A person of 65 plus is considered a senior. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part includes information on diet principles in elderly age, factors affecting the diet condition, diseases related to food income and further information linked to diet and physical activity of seniors. The quantitative research method was used for the research part. Questionnaires were spread among seniors living in a rest home, seniors living in families with their children and seniors having their own households. The research part was compiled upon responses from 112 seniors who had filled in the questionnaires on their diet habits. 65 per cent of the research participants were women, 36 per cent were men. Two 24-hour foot and drink intake charts were included in the questionnaires, one for a weekday (Friday) and the other for a Sunday. The amounts of food taken, the drink intake and physical activity were entered into the charts. The evaluation of the charts has shown that the energy intake exceeds the recommended standard for 71 % of the seniors on a weekday and at a weekend this number increases to 77 %. 42 % of the respondents are overweight and 52 % think they eat right. The first goal was to find whether the food energy value corresponds to the age and physique of an individual. Hypothesis 1 is that the energy value corresponds to the age and physique of an individual. The second goal was whether seniors adhere to the drink intake. Hypothesis 2 is that seniors adhere to the drink intake. The third goal of the thesis was to find whether the proportion of fat, sugar and proteins corresponds to the age and physique of an individual. Hypothesis 3 is that the proportion of fat, sugar and proteins corresponds to the age and physique of an individual. The fourth goal of the thesis was to find whether the fat content in the food meets the recommended standard (<30 grams per day). Hypothesis 4 is that the fat content in the food meets the recommended daily standard. There are some interesting results arising from the thesis. OSADČÍ, Jana
This work focuses on eating habits of patiens with colostomy and ileostomy and their personal experience with observing the given nourishing rules. The number of such patients has been growing in the Czech Republic in the last time. Introduction of colostomy or ileostomy is a very difficult situation for every patient. When adapting to the new situation the patient needs all possible professional care. Many changes enter his life and one of them is the change in eating habits. There is no universal diet at present that could go for all such patients. In spite of the fact that correct nourishment and drinking regime are the most important for them. That is why we were interested in the patients experience in the area of nourishment. This work had two targets. The first one concentrated on the specific eating habits of the patients after colostomy and the other one the specific eating habits of the patients after ileostomy. There were two hypotheses connected with the targets. The first hypothesis tried to find out, whether the patients with colostomy have their specific eating habits. The other hypothesis tried the same for the patients with ileostomy. To be able to achieve the targets a quantitative research has been applied, implemented by means of an anonymous questionnaire. The questionnaire contained 27 questions. The data were collected in March 2009. 100 questionnaires were distributed, 80 percent of them were returned. This work has confirmed the fact that there is no universal diet that could be applied for all the patients. The nourishment must adapt to the individual requirements, because different people react in a different way to individual food and they must try out, what suits them. In this way they themselves find out the best eating habits with the course of time, they will not feel restricted and they will stop being afraid of the negative effects of food.

HROMÍŘOVÁ, Jana
SUMMARY: One of the main aims of the humankind is to obtain and preserve health. To achieve this it is important to prevent illnesses; we talk about prevention. Prevention consists of many important factors; such as right nourishment, reasonable physical and mental activities and optimal vital life. That`s why I selected subject for my bachelor work: {\clqq}The catering customs of the Jihoceska university`s students``, which aims at the right nourishment of the undergraduates. The aim of my work was to find out whether the students of the JCU take meals according to the principles of the right nourishment during their studies and if the standard of their nourishment depends on their financial situation. The result from my questionnaire is clear: Students of the JCU don`t take the right principles of the right nourishment. Negative influences have impact on their right nourishment during studies are iregularity of diet, insufficiency of free time and insufficiency of finance. Students of the JCU prefer light pastry and sweets in opposite to fish, pulse and fermented milk products. It is necessary to implement to their menu more healthy food, such as fruit, vegetable, pulse, dark wholemeal pastry, fish and it is also important to keep regularity in drinking minimally 1,5 l of liquid per day. Students of the JCU should have more physical trainings to keep optimal weight and prevent illnesses. Important factors for electing diet are financial together with taste, smell and appearance of the food. Result from the next questionnaire, which I did in France, is that the French students take more right principles of the right nourishment. Their diet is light and better to consume. It consists mainly from vegetable, poultry, pulse and fish. By my opinion it would be better for students of the JCU to take principles of the French students and to import food of French cuisine to their menu.
