Comprehensive physiotherapeutic care of a patient after ankle fracture
Eichler, Jakub ; Reckziegelová, Petra (advisor) ; Těšitelová, Pavlína (referee)
Author: Jakub Eichler Title of the thesis: Comprehensive physiotherapeutic care of a patient after ankle fracture Objectives: First, to summarize theoretically the problems of ankle fracture including its anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the ankle joint and the possibilities of treatment and subsequent rehabilitation. And then narrate a case report of the complex care of a patient after a fracture of the ankle joint in a special section. Methods: In the theoretical one, the anatomy of the tibia and foot, kinesiology and biomechanics of the foot in the gait cycle, changes in gait stereotype due to ankle fracture, classification of ankle fractures and possible treatment approaches and aspects of follow- up care are presented. The special section then contains a complete case study of a patient after ankle fracture, including initial and outcome kinesiological analysis, description of the different therapeutic units and evaluation of the effect of therapy, which is confronted with current scientific knowledge in the discussion. Results: The case report showed improvement in most of the functionally relevant aspects with the most noticeable improvement in gait when comparing the results of the initial and final examination. Conclusion: The content of the thesis fulfils the set objectives and...
Effect of application of botulotoxin for change of gait in patients after brain damage with spastic dystonia
Bárdyová, Tereza ; Angerová, Yvona (advisor) ; Dědková, Miriama (referee)
Title: Effect of application of botulotoxin for change of gait in patients after brain damage with spastic dystonia Abstract: The theme of this bachelor thesis is verifying possibilities of botulinum toxin influencing the gait stereotype of patients with spastic dystonia. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of research of relevant literature sources, based on which basic terms of the associated range of problems are briefly defined: muscle tone, spasticity, spastic dystonia, botulinum toxin and gait. Part of the theoretical summary also includes scales that describe muscle tone (Ashworth scale, Tardieu scale, Five-step clinical assessment by Gracies) and also tests evaluating gait stereotype (Tinetti Gait and Balance Examination, 10 Meter Walk Test, 2 Minute Walk Test, Timed Up and Go, Rivermead visual assessment of the gait). The practical part contains two case reports of patients suffering from spastic dystonia who were monitored during one cycle of the application of botulinum toxin. Degree and nature of spasticity of these patients were measured at equal intervals and then, using the selected tests, the gait stereotypes were compared at various stages of effect of botulinum toxin. Based on the obtained results, effect of this substance on gait...
Stance and gait analysis using ZEBRIS FDM-T System in patients with scoliosis
Bulánová, Kateřina ; Lepšíková, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Opálková, Michaela (referee)
The thesis deals with the issue of walking and standing in patients with a scoliosis. The theoretical part of this thesis summarizes current knowledge of scoliosis, its classification, etiology, pathogenesis and risk factors of the curve progression. Then the most often changes of the stand and gait stereotype and their main causes are discussed. Goal of the practical part was to identify the difference between particular parameters of gait in an experimental group of patients with scoliosis and a control group of healthy individuals. The examination was performed via the dynamic plantography method using the Zebris FDM-T System. 19 probands with scoliosis aged 8 - 19 and a control group of 19 orthopedically healthy patients in a corresponding age distribution have been selected for the study. The results did not provide any statistically significant difference on a significance level p=0,05. However, there were clear differences between the groups referring to bigger asymmetries in stance and gait stereotype in the scoliosis patients group. Since even in a scientific literature there is a difference in opinion on this issue, more research might be necessary for the exact evaluation of the influence of scoliosis on the stance and gait stereotype.
