Vlková, Barbora ; Šolc, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Strnad, Pavel (referee)
TITLE: The options of prosthetic equipment for people with unilateral transfemoral amputation and its impact on their physical capability OBJECTIVES: The aim of the work is to evaluate the effect of the used components of the prosthesis on the activity level of adults with unilateral transfemoral amputation, which are currently available on the domestic market covered by health insurance with deductibles. METHODS: The basis of the analytical part is literary research and data collection of technical data sheets. The second part of the work is qualitative research and contains case studies of five probands. The research group consisted of 5 persons with unilateral transfemoral amputation aged 49-78 years. Unstructured interview and observation methods were used for data collection. RESULTS: The result of the work is a summary of information related to the assembly of different types of TF prostheses for adults and evaluation of the relation between the level of technology used and the quality of the user's life. KEY WORD: unilateral transfemoral amputation, transfemoral prosthesis, physical capability, rehabilitation, prosthetic knee joint, prosthetic foot
Case Study of Orthotic-Prostetics Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of transfemoral amputation
Švaříčková, Tamara ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Černý, Pavel (referee)
Title: Case study of orthotic - prosthetic care for a patient with a diagnosis of transfemoral amputation Aims: The aim of this paper is a case study of a patient with a diagnosis of transfemoral amputation. The main objective is to prepare a comprehensive overview related to the issue of lower limb amputations and, based on the examination and clinical interviews, to produce a device that best suits the patient's needs. The process of prosthetic care from the examination of the patient to the fitting of the new prosthesis is described. Methods: This thesis has theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, professional framework of the problem is presented based on a literature research and my experience in practice. It focuses on the anatomy and function of the lower limb, gait cycle, amputation procedure and prosthetic care of the stump. Also, it provides an overview of prosthetic components that could be chosen when indicating a femoral prosthesis. In the practical part, the course of four patient visits is described, from the collection of the measurement materials, through the manufacturing of the stump socket, testing and adjustments, to the handover of the device. The practical part is documented verbally and photographically as it took place during my professional practice....
The Options of Prosthetic Equipment for Patients with Transfemoral Amputation Covered by Public Health Insurance
Vlková, Barbora ; Mikšíčková, Petra (advisor) ; Šolc, Zdeněk (referee)
TITLE: The Options of Prosthetic Equipment for Patients with Transfemoral Amputation Covered by Public Health Insurance OBJECTIVES : The aim of this work is to present a comprehensive overview of prosthetic equipment for adult patients with transfemoral amputations that are currently available in Czech Republic by health insurance. The theoretical overview is supplemented by three case studies of elderly patients whose improvement of mobility helped them to get special prostheses. METHODS: The basis of the analytical part is literary research and data collection of technical data sheets. The practical part is based on personal experience, consultation with experts and records of each case. RESULTS: The result of the work is a summarization of information related to the assembly of various types of TF prosthesis for adult patients with no special demands. KEY WORDS: amputation, transfemoral amputation, femoral prosthesis, prosthetic foot, prosthetic sockets, prosthetic knee joint

Nagy, Ondřej ; Šolc, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Černý, Pavel (referee)
1 ABSTRACT Title: Analysis of the functionality of the current transtibial prostheses Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to describe a history of the development of prosthetics from its inception to the present and describe the basic structure and distribution of lower limb prostheses. The thesis will also include analysis of functionality existing transtibial prostheses. To determine the required documents and clarify key issues: " whether transtibial prostheses are now able to fully replace the patient lost limbs" will be used poll/questionnaire . Methods: In the theoretical part, I used the literature search. I have analyzed the accumulated data from professional publications and books. In the empirical section, I did a quantitative research to determine whether transtibial prosthesis fully replace missing to the handicapped persons. Results: I think that the current prosthetics will replace to patients the functionality of the real limbs. Keywords: prostheses , leg prosthesis, femoral prosthesis , exartikulation in the knee, the development of prosthetic devices, amputation , foot, stump, construction , transtibial prosthesis
