Inhabitant Consumption Statistic

Main goal of the diploma thesis is to describe household consumption and its survey in the Czech Republic not only from the macroeconomic but mainly from the microeconomic standpoint. Consumption expenditures are the main subject of many long-term analysis and forecasts which help by implementation of economic and politcal precautions. In connection with the historical development of statistic as a scientific disciplin there is also a significant stress on a methodical development of household budget surveys which examine consumption expenditures of different social groups and household types. After the analysis of development and structure of household consumption surveyed by National Accounts and Household Budget Surveys the attention is given also to household consumption in member states of the European Union among which is also the Czech Republic.

Using statistical methods for analysis of annual reports of Czech foundations

This thesis selects and applies statistical methods to describe and analyse a sample of annual reports of Czech foundations with the aim to discuss their current state and verify some fundamental issues related to it. The main objective is to ascertain transparency of the foundations and their adherence to legal regulations regarding the publishing of annual reports. The point of departure will be the following hypotheses. Firstly, Czech foundations do, for the most part (95%), follow the obligation to publish an annual report. Secondly, those who publish a report fulfil most of the legal requirements (75%) regarding its content. Further, factors influencing the foundation's conduct in fulfilling the obligation to publish a report are explored. For this purpose, three hypotheses are used. Firstly, it is more likely that Czech foundations united in the Czech Donors Forum shall publish an annual report in comparison with others. Secondly, Czech foundations using the Foundation Investment Fund (hereinafter referred to as NIF) are more likely to publish annual reports than others. Thirdly, large Czech foundations tend to proceed in the same way. In conclusion, general behaviour of the Czech foundation sector (i.e. the foundations) and their adherence to legal regulations is assessed.

The graphical data analysis in various statistical computing systems

Goal of my thesis is to show and compare various ways of graphical data analysis in statistical computing systems. This area is still developing, new techniques are being discovered and the already known are being developed. This work is split into three parts, one theoretical, one comparing and one general with new ideas. The first part is theoretical and is dedicated to classification of statistical variables. For statistical computing systems I offer a simplified classification because of the way they treat some types of variables. Second part of my work compares graphical outputs of three most used statistical computing systems SAS, SPSS and STATISTICA. This comparison is based on some of the most commonly used graphical methods. The outputs are tables with detailed description and examples of graphs from each system are attached. The last part is focused on the general graphical data exploration and follows the simplified classification of variables. In this part I use common graphical techniques and introduce some new or fewer used techniques. Many of them haven't been described in any Czech literature yet. Almost all the graphs presented in this work were created by me in various statistical computing systems. Two were copied from literature because of serious problems with the process of their creation.

Statistical identification of industry clusters potential

The aim of the thesis is to present the process connected with the identification of industrial clusters and to point out possible methods and instruments that are useable by such identification. The target is not only focussed on description of these methods but also on consideration that the methods are likewise useful in regions of Czech Republic, especially taken into account the existing offer of regional data. The diplom thesis consists of three parts. The first part represents theoretical introduction to clusters' problem. The second part, also the theoretical one, deals widely with quantitative and qualitative methods and with procedures and clasification that belong to these methods. The third part applies the theoretical knowledge into practices. The comparison methods are used in the theoretical part and the methods of analysis, synthesis, comparison and induction are used in the practical part. The diplom thesis brings a quantitative extension of methods that have been used so far when identifying the industrial clusters in Czech Republic. Due to the present trend of prefering the qualitative methods, the extension of quantitative methods could be seen as a retrograde act. But the conditions of Czech Republic tourned out that, in fact, it is a suitable extension of statistical instruments.

Students results in statistics

The main aim of my thesis is to compare results of different groups of students who took part in the statistic course on VŠE. The thesis is dividend into two parts. The first part is focused on theoretical solution of used data comparison. The second part is practical and it is focused on results comparison from different angles with descriptive statistics and some statisistics tests. The results from partial comparison of data from different points of view are summarized at the end of the thesis.

Statistický software pro analýzu časových řad

Vzhledem k existenci obrovského množství statistických programů vzniká docela logická otázka: který z nich je lepší. Samozřejmě tady záleží na konkrétní zkoumané úloze. V této práci se budu věnovat analýze časových řad. Vzhledem k tomu, že na trhu jsou jak placené tak i neplacené programy bude třeba se podívat na několik představitelů obou skupin. Závěrem své práce ohodnotím tyto softwary podle několika kritérii. Posuzovat budu z hlediska potřeb studenta Vysoké Školy Ekonomické. Studenti VŠE tady mají možnost pracovat především se Statgraphicsem a GiveWinem, další dva softwary Matrixer a Gretl jsou zprostředkovány jako freeware a jsou dostupné zdarma na internetu, dále budu porovnávat i placené programy EViews a Time Series Modelling, s cílem posoudit jestli se vyplatí koupit licenci na tyto softwary nebo je lepší použít školní program anebo bude lepší stáhnout freeware. Rozbor programu provedu pomocí tři aspektů: obecný popis programů, příkladu ARIMA a příkladu SARIMA.

Klasifikace poslanců podle hlasování k jednotlivých zákonům

Tato bakalářská práce nabízí analýzu srovnání hlasování stran jako celků nebo jednotlivých poslanců. Analýza je zaměřena na zkoumání těsnosti hlasování pomocí měr kontingence. Klade si za cíl nalézt odpovědi na vyřčené hypotézy. Nejprve zkoumá jednotnost stran při hlasování, poté loajalitu poslanců a na závěr jednotlivé párové shody stran při hlasování, ať už v rámci koalice nebo celkově.

Nonparametric tests in statistical software

Cílem této diplomové práce je praktické i teoretické seznámení uživatelů neparametrických metod s několika vybranými statistickými programy, v nichž je možné neparametrické analýzy provádět. Nedílnou součástí cíle je i porovnání těchto programů. V teoretické části jsou stručně popsány základy testování statistických hypotéz a teorie neparametrických testů. V praktické části jsou prozkoumány programy NCSS 2007, Statistica 7, SPSS 15, Systat 12, Stagraphics Centurion XV, Minitab 15, S-Plus 6.2, SAS 9.1 a StatXact 7. U každého software jsou popsány neparametrické testy, které obsahuje, a zjednodušeně i vkládání dat a výstupy. Nakonec jsou vybrané programy porovnány z několika hledisek. Všechny vybrané programy obsahují značné množství neparametrických testů a liší se většinou jen v detailech. Pro většinu analýz není potřeba hledat speciální programy a dají se použít všechny vybrané, pouze pro porovnávání rozptylů je nutné použít buď SAS nebo StatXact, protože v jiných programech ve výběru tyto testy nenalezneme.

Žena na trhu práce

Práce se věnuje rozdílům v postavení mužů a žen na trhu práce. Je zde srovnání zaměstnanosti žen a mužů dle věkových skupin, dle dosaženého vzdělání, dle pracovního poměru, dle oboru ekonomických činností atd. Práce vystihuje situaci na trhu práce v České republice i ve vybraných zemích Evropské unie. Poukazuje na rozdíly ve mzdách mužů a žen. Jedná se o statistickou studii. Praktickou část tvoří případová studie ze společnosti Vodafone. Ta demonstruje vývojové trendy v České republice. Výsledkem je zhodnocení situace na trhu práce v České republice a popis trendů, které budou pro český trh práce charakteristické.
