Possibilities of regeneration of brownfields
Dostálová, Markéta ; Výskala, Miloslav (referee) ; Aigel, Petr (advisor)
Content of this thesis is analysis of possibilities for generation brownfield and searching for the best option for realization of regeneration. Thesis contains theoretic part, where brownfield problematic in Czech Republic is explained, their environmental burden, subsidy possibilities for regeneration, then price problematic and evaluation of properties and also not the last in the range - territorial planning documentation and change in purpose of usage. These terms are further used for solution of thesis practical part, where two possibilities for brownfield´s regeneration of former agricultural property are solved. First option is already realized - project of brownfield´s regenerace, which is now being used for purpose of „Mikropodnik Lupenice“ as melting house for non-ferous metals, and another option of solution is demolition of houses in areal and sale of lands equiped by needed technical network system and traffic infrastructure for building-up family houses. As output information is comparison these two options and choice of the best evaluation of Lupenice´s brownfield.
Likvidace starých ekologických zátěží po těžbě ropy a zemního plynu na Hodonínsku
Gazdíková, Šárka
Gazdíková, Š. Liquidation of old ecological loads after crude oil and natural gas extraction in Hodonín area. Diploma thesis. Brno, 2019. This diploma thesis focuses on the issue of old ecological loads after crude oil and natural gas extraction in Hodonín area. Selected municipality Lužice and its cadastral territory are examined in terms of natural conditions. Currently discussed ecological loads in this area are analysed. Questionnaire survey shows residents attitude towards these ecological loads. Questionnaire survey also aims to suggest recommendation to increase awareness of this issue. Opening theoretical part analyses the issue, explains fundamental terms, focuses on current situation of old ecological loads in Czech republic and their liquidation, deals with legislation related to this topic as well.
Mapping of contaminated sites in the Czech Republic using GIS
Vacířová, Anna ; Matějíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Innemanová, Petra (referee)
Work concentrates on possibilities of mapping of contaminated sites in the Czech Republic by the means of remote-controlled exploration of the Earth. The reason for that is the possibility of contamination of surroundings by various substances which can damage the health of inhabitants. The main focus is concentrated on the methods of the "National Contaminated Sites Inventory" project, as it is currently the main project taking place in the Czech Republic which is dealing with this problems. The work summarizes the historical mapping of contaminated places in the Czech Republic and there are mentioned the existing databasesy. Other part is dedicated to the situation in mapping abroad, especially in the United States and Canada. There are depicted which mapping outputs are available for given locality on the basis of acquired data. Key words: NIKM, SEKM, Remote Senzing, Contaminated sites, GIS
Principles of Processing Risk Analyses in Remediation of Old Environmental Burdens
Vyskočilová, Adéla ; Wimmerová, Lenka (advisor) ; Petr, Petr (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the old ecological burdens, to describe and compare the procedures that are being processed in the analysis of the risks of the contaminated area. The risk analysis of the contaminated area is described according to a valid methodological instruction prepared by the Ministry of the Environment for these purposes and it is necessary to proceed to solve the old ecological burdens. In this work the analysis of risks of contaminated area and corrective remediation in old ecological burdens is dealt with, as well as the possible health risk and formulas, which then determine how much people living in a given locality are at risk. It is evaluated here the pollution of selected areas, the size of the contaminated area in selected areas, the types of pollution and others. Selected areas were evaluated according to the available SEKM database data. At the end of this work is the overall evaluation of selected regions according to available data.
Environment impact assessment of the Jezera landfill
Bidrman, Zdeněk ; Trakal, Lukáš (advisor) ; Irena, Irena (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the impact of closed landfill Jezera on groundwater quality and environment of its surroundings. The data from the monitoring of the groundwater were analyzed as part of the thesis. Data were evaluated by their arrangement, comparison with legislation limits and commenting trends of pollutant concentrations in time. Carried out research found out the concentration of majority monitored pollutants is decreasing over time, except particular group of substances, especially heavy metals group, whose values are constant over time. Based on learned data, it is possible to claim that carried out landfill protection and its surrounding area was successful. Due to the lucrative locality and increasing pressure on installation of development, it is necessary to consider further observation of groundwater quality in the area and modify the scope of the observed substances according to the assessment carried out.
Reducing the concentration of toxic metals in the Litavka stream - evaluation of the remediation effectivity
Štíchová, Alena ; Šimek, Pavel (advisor) ; Faturíková, Dagmara (referee)
High concentration of toxic metal in soil and in water is threat for all areas that are affected in such a way. It negatively influence ecosystems of the areas and it is dangerous for health and lives of people. A region of this characteristics is an area of former mining and smelting company in Březové Hory in Příbram. Contamination of soil, surface-water and underground water was caused by long-term mining of polymetallic ores that had been going since Medieval period. The smelting process also had significant influence. After the end of the mining and the related processes, it was necessary to deal with its negative impact to the region. The goal of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of measures which was realized as part of a remediation and redevelopment of the area. The reparative measures was aimed to decrease ecological risk in river Litavka and its surroundings. Leaching of toxic metals from rock environment by infiltration of atmospheric precipitation is the main source of pollution. The remediation and recultivation consisted of removal of buildings which belonged to former factory for processing of ores, including remediation and recultivation of this grounds and pile with mining waste from mine called Vojtěch and his forefield. New earth with appropriate physical and chemical characteristics, serving as water isolant, was found after reshaping of the pile. A postremediation monitoring was done to evaluate the quality of water in river Litavka and to prove accomplishment of targeted parameters and defined limits of the remediation. The monitoring included a collection of samples from surface-water and underground water, measurement of level of underground water and measurement of permeability of superficial layers of rock environment in defined monitoring points, so called control profiles. Based on original observation of the region and my participation during measurements, including collection of water samples, I could compare obtained information, evaluate the results of postremediation monitoring and make evaluation of effectiveness of the remediation and suitability of usage of the area. The results of the performed measures show that corrective steps successfully lowered the concentration of toxic metals in river Litavka and also the infiltration of precipitation into the underground water. The usage of the area as park is appropriate and is consistent with zoning.
Analýza možností sanace vybrané staré ekologické zátěže
Balušková, Zuzana
This Master's thesis is devoted to the issue of old ecological burdens. Literal review summarizes general information about old ecological burdens, selection process of remediation, remeditaion technologies, in both saturated and unsaturated zones, further divided into biological, physical and chemical methods. Within the content cross-cutting legislation regarding to old ecological burdens is summarized. Second part of this thesis is dedicated to specific old ecological burden namely Laguny Ostramo in Ostrava. Selected burden was evaluated by the risk analysis and proposals for the completion of remediation were suggested.

The hazards of soil pollutants and their effects on the human health
ŠVEHLOVÁ, Jana
Good soil condition belongs to the basic requirements of well-ballanced environment. That is why the soil has to correspond to hygienic requirements and be protected against substances harmful to human health, e.g. toxic materials, germs of transmissible illnesses and parasites. The most common cause of soil contamination is anthropogenic incidence. Contaminated soil belongs to waste and has to be removed in a proper way. is A special way of waste removal is soil decontamination. Its goal is to remove harmful substances and regain the original use of the soil.
