The dissertation, in the form of qualitative historical research, follows the development of institutional care for at-risk children. This historical period was chosen as it was a time of all kinds of experiments. Looking back and describing successful solutions to care issues in the past can contribute to the current discussion on the effective form of institutional care in Czechia. The dissertation focuses on Junior Republic (USA), Ford Republic (USA), Little Commonwealth (UK), Baumgarten (Austria), Boys Town (USA), House of Orphans (Poland), Gorky Colony (Soviet Union), and Summerhill (Great Britain) - as these models are only briefly described in Czech scholarly literature. In my bachelor thesis I deal with Quality standards of childcare in school institutions for prosecution of institutional care. In the first chapter of the theoretical part are specified constitutional and protective care. There is described in what circumstances can children get into institutional care and how is this topic dealt with legally. In the second chapter there is information contained - possible school institutions for constitutional and protective care. In the third chapter there are introduced Quality standards of care, which are applied in school institutions for prosecution of institutional and protective care approved in 2015 by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. There is mentioned simplified overview of quality standards, specific principles and their observance and quality reflection possibilities, which can be used by institutions. In the practical part were specified two targets. First were described and analyzed Quality standards of care and following target was finding out if the employees from chosen types of institutions in the South Bohemian region were sufficiently trained in following the standards. I have chosen a qualitative research, method of semi-structured dialoques, questioning method. Queried group were employees in a job of daily educator, etoped or social worker. The result of my research is following: the employees are well-informed about the Standards, they were well-trained and they know, how to use it in daily practice. Degrees of quality reflection are in progress. Genereally was mentioned that the implementation of Standards has not significantly influenced their individual work with children. This bachelor thesis can be used as information source for medical, social or pedagogic students. It may also be suitable for employees in the institutions for prosecution of institutional care and protective care and for wider public interested in this topic.
