Spacewalk Plug-in for the APT Packaging Tool
Lukašík, Šimon ; Hrubý, Martin (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
Spacewalk is an open source management solution for Linux systems. It works well with Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, where one can install and upgrade packages using yum and yum-rhn-plugin tools which download packages from Spacewalk. Unfortunatelly, for Debian, there is no such tool. This work reassumes Master Thesis of Lukáš Ďurfina, who added initial support for Debian in Spacewalk Server. The main goal is to write a plug-in for apt-get, which allows downloading the packages for a Debian system from Spacewalk.
Electronic notice board LCD
Chmelař, Petr ; Franek, Lešek (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
This paper focuse at market research with digital signages, kiosks, and the subsequent suggestion directed on the concept of the new system and its hardware parts and software. The aim of this work is grounded on creating the concept of electronic boards, which is derived from the market research. The concept of the system is describing the principle of functioning of the digital signage, possibilities of controlling and system administration itself. The suggestion of the hardware part of the system contains the selection of appropriate mechanism for realization of the software part of the system and the proposal of controlling and signaling aspects, which are suitable for communication with users.
Machine Learning in the Monitoring of Computer Clusters
Adam, Martin ; Pilát, Martin (advisor) ; Balcar, Štěpán (referee)
With the explosion of the number of distributed applications, a new dynamic server environment emerged grouping servers into clusters, whose utilization depends on the cur- rent demand for the application. Detecting and fixing erratic server behavior is paramount for providing maximal service stability and availability. Using standard techniques to de- tect such behavior is yielding sub-optimal results. We have collected a dataset of OS-level performance metrics from a cluster running a streaming distributed application and in- jected artificially created anomalies. We then selected a set of various machine learning algorithms and trained them for anomaly detection on said dataset. We evaluated the algorithms performance and proposed a system for generating notifications of possible erratic behavior, based on the analysis of the best performing algorithm. 1
