Drug addiction and its solution in Příbram Prison

This bachelor thesis is about drug addiction and dealing with it in a prison with specialized department for mentally ill due to drug taking. In theoretical part, there are defined basic terms, such as drugs and addiction, and definitions and characteristics of individual narcotics. In the next part, there is a description of the specialized department for mentally ill due to drug taking. The practical part of this thesis is divided into two parts. The first one is based on a questionnaire focused on drug taking. The second part is built on interviews with convicts about their life and their drug addiction.

Role of teaching assistants in the education of convicts with disabilities

The purpose of this diploma work is to evaluate the work of teaching assistants in supporting the study of convicts with disabilities in the Vocational School in Vinařice Prison. The partial aim of this diploma work is to determine whether the teaching assistants are providing enough support to pupils with disabilities in the level of support that will lead to better learning results and also would enable students to succeed at the open labor market. Diploma work will be divided into the theoretical part and the practical part. The practical part will be elaborated by quantitative and qualitative research methods. Quantitative research will be conducted through a questionnaire, which will be focused on support which is provided by teaching assistants while working with students with disabilities and then on the perception on teaching assistants support that is provided to students with disabilities. Qualitative research will include case studies of pupils - convicts with disabilities in the Vocational School Vinařice. Special Department as Part of Professional Treatment of Convicts.

The thesis deals with special treatment of convicts, in particular a special programme of treatment in a special department. The thesis has two parts the theoretical one and the empirical one. The theoretical part defines basic notions connected with education, family, free time, pathological phenomena in society, crime. They are presented on the basis of scientific resources. Next, special treatment of convicts in a special department is described. The convicts suffer from a behaviour disorder caused by abuse of psychotropic drugs. The main goal of the empirical research was to describe, compare and analyse the opinions of the convicts on the relation between crime and family life, free time activities and also the therapeutic programme of the special department.

Treatment programs with drug addicted persons in Czech prisons

Drug addiction presents a problem that negatively influences the whole society. If the drug addicted person is imprisoned, it is important to solve this situation. There are various treatment programs that are performed in the drugless zones or specialized wards. Providing of substitution treatments and harm reduction programs is at the beginning in Czech prisons. The non-governmental organizations associated with Association of non-governmental organization in department of Drug service in prisons provide support and help too. Prison service of The Czech Republic makes efforts to eliminate drug abuse through anti-drug measures like drug monitoring. I devoted to treatment programs, anti-drug measures, service provided by non-governmental organizations and drug abuse in prisons in the first theoretical part of my work. In the second one, I described these issues more specifically through interview with specialists from prisons and non-governmental organization.

Opinions of a woman with a child in prison.

The work is focused on the prison system - specifically women bringing up their child / children in prison. This specialized department is located in Svetla nad Sazavou and its function is executed since 2002, only in the CR. The department for mothers with children is part of a female prison in Světla nad Sázavou. The aim of this work is to detected the opinion by citizens living in Budějovice on this issue. If they know about this specialist departments in our CR and where are located. Whether citizens agree with this eduaction or not, if they believe a child's stay in prison to be harmful for its further development, whether it should have imprisoned a woman to raise her child in prison for the duration of his sentence, etc. I will use a public inquiry as a research method, and results will be used to evaluation to my hypotheses.
