Villages occur in many Czech and central European large protected areas (LPA). Some inhabitants and local politicians occasionally publish, that occurrence of the LPA can inhibit regional development and cause negative demographic and socioeconomic changes in the region. This diploma thesis tests this assumption and studies the effect of existence and establishment of the LPA on socioeconomic parameters of villages and their inhabitants. The case study was conducted in the south-west border region of the Czech Republic, the area of high o ser atio alue. The Šu a a Natio al Park i side of alread e isti g Šu a a Protected La ds ape Area, PLA a d Český les PLA ere esta lished 99 a d 5, respectively. Also Novohradské hory PLA was proposed several times but have not been proofed till now. Statistical analysis (ANCOVA) for selected socioeconomic and demographic parameters of 39 villages and their cadasters were used to study development of the region between years 1991 - 2011. The results found the village size (number of permanent residents living in the village) to be more significant predictor for most of studied parameters than occurrence of the village in/out of the LPA. Natural Environment as Potential and Limit of the Socioeconomic Development

The bachelor thesis deals with natural environment in strategic plans of microregions, in which natural environment can appear as a potencial and a limit of the socioeconomic development. The aim of this thesis is to research the role of natural environment in strategic plans of microregions. The next aim is to evaluate importance of natural environment components in analytical and proposal part of documents. Method of critical text analysis, exactly analysis of three strategic plans of microregions, which were chosen on the basis of some determined criterions, is used in this thesis. The analysis is focused on three thematic parts. Firstly, on structure of natural environment, secondly, on evaluating of natural environment from the point of view of the socioeconomic development, and thirdly, on the bond between the natural environment and the proposal socioeconomic development.

The thesis deals with cross-border cooperation and the influence of socio-economic development of this cooperation. The aim of the thesis is to assess the socio-economic development situation, determining the causes of decline and its persistence in the border regions. The work is divided into two main parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with regional policy, cross-border cooperation and cross-border cooperation tools. The practical part deals with socio-economic and SWOT analysis of the South Region.
The brown coal exploitation a recultivation impact on socioeconomic development of District Sokolov

This diploma thesis deals with revitalization of landscape and recultivation in Sokolov region. In its first part the paper deals with socioeconomic analysis of region Sokolov. The main task of this analysis is, evaluate present progress of this region. It also describes history of brown coal mining in brown coal field of Sokolov region and negative effect for landscape. Next chapters of this thesis show: recultivation in general, project documentation, financing arrangements, company Sokolovská uhelná a.s. and its privatisation. One of the most important parts of this diploma thesis deals with recultivation in Sokolov region and description of particular locations in this region. The last part gives an evaluation of socioeconomic developmet in dependence on recultivation in Sokolov region.
