Helena Machulová, Ph.D. The aim of this thesis is to make a list of demanding situations connected with the delivery and the period shortly after where there is a need of the help of a social worker. The form of the thesis is theoretical. It describes emotional and demanding life situations of a mother and a child connected with the delivery and a short period of time after which the mother spends with her child on the puerperium and neonatal care unit of a hospital. The thesis is dividend into three main chapters. The contribution of the thesis is in highlighting specific problematic situations of mothers and children shortly after the delivery. These uneasy relationship situations are frequently downplayed, ridiculed or overlooked by their families, friends and neigbourhood.
Ways and difficulties of social work with a client having suffered an injury with permanent consequences

The bachelor thesis "Ways and Difficulties of Social Work with a Client Having Suffered an Injury with Permanent Consequences" is dealing with specifics of social work with a client who has suffered an injury resulting in irreversible damage of a part of his body. Special attention is paid to injuries of cervical spine area and the spinal cord. The introduction lists potential permanent consequences and their impact to the client, i.e. physical, psychological and social impacts. The thesis is discussing the needs of a client after an injury with permanent consequences as well as the opportunities for cooperation of social workers, physicians, nurses, psychologists and other healthcare professionals. Further on, it deals with accessibility of information and services to the client and also with opportunities and difficulties of social work with such a client. The thesis contains also several case histories of clients who have suffered an injury in the area of the cervical spine and the spinal cord resulting in reduction or loss of function of their lower and upper limbs, in reduction of movability, self-care ability and chances for self- realization. Bachelor thesis "Professiogram as the basis for the creation of methodologies for social workers in health care when working with chronically ill children" deals with the capture file professional activities, requirements and conditions of health and social worker, from which can be deduced further demands on the professionalism of personality worker and the eventual design methodologies. The theoretical part deals with the issue of chronic disease in children, including its impact on the daily life of the child, and social work in health care and the efficiency of the health status of the client that influence disease got into a difficult situation.
