The status of caregivers in the context of the Social Services Act
Štollová, Dana ; Čabanová, Bohumila (advisor) ; Mlejnková, Kristýna (referee)
The work titled "Rank of caring persons in the context of the social services law" analyses the situation of caring persons during the care. The work follows the question of discrimination and social-economic exclusion of caring persons in the Czech Republic on the basis of executed research analyse. The rank of caring persons is not legally embedded in any legal regulation. However, this results into the fact, that there is neither range of duties nor the law or social benefits in the case of sickness, and the old age pension scheme is very limited, too. This work brings suggestions of measures and solutions of these problems so that family and intergeneration solidarity and rules of subsidiarity would be supported, and at the same time the social and economic discrimination of caring persons in the Czech Republic.

The role of nurses in the care of overweight or obese adolescents
SOROKANETS, Viktorie
This thesis is focused on the role of a pediatric nurse in the care of overweight and obese adolescents. A pediatric nurse plays a key role in promoting the health of children and adolescents in primary care. A nurse is in many cases the first person the family or a child confide their worries and health concerns in. A pediatric nurse is a person whose professional focus is determined by the needs of children; he or she is an expert who should seize every opportunity for consultation on healthy lifestyles of children and parents; he or she is an essential and irreplaceable member of the team caring for a child or an adolescent (Sikorová, 2012). This thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part is focused on obesity itself, it describes pathogenesis, complications and consequences, as well as prevention and treatment. In the next chapter we focus on the role of the nurse in the pediatrician's office. There we described the role of nurses in the examination of an obese or overweight adolescent, the awareness of a nurse and adolescent in the field of childhood obesity, the principles of communication of nurses with the obese adolescent and his or her education. At the end of the theoretical part the psychosocial impacts on obese adolescents, such as social isolation, discrimination and the risk of developing eating disorders, are described. The second half of the thesis is empirical. Research was carried out in two ways. The first part of the research was realized in the form of a quantitative survey, in which nurses in general pediatricians offices were approached using electronic questionnaires. The questions in the questionnaire were focused on the education of nurses in the field of childhood obesity, education of adolescents, cooperation with families and other professionals. The research group therefore consisted of pediatric nurses who pursue their profession in the Czech Republic. In the second part of the research the method of questioning, namely the interview technique was used. It was a semi-structured interview with obese adolescents. Each interview consisted of 24 questions and lasted an average of 20 - 25 minutes. Interviews with adolescents were focused on the knowledge of the term Body Mass Index, health and psychological consequences, their personal lives, relationships with peers and partners, the possibility of using the services of a nutritional consultant. We contacted 15 respondents aged 16 to 20 years, all were from South Bohemia. In case of minor adolescents parental agreement with the research had to be acquired. The questionnaire was accessible online and its completion was not time consuming; however out of approximately 400 distributed questionnaires only 154 returned fully completed. The return of questionnaires was approximately 40 % and reflects the ratio of completed and mailed questionnaires. At the beginning two goals were set. The purpose of the first objective was to explore the role of nurses in the approach to obese adolescents. The results showed that nurses are trying to educate themselves in the field of child obesity, they are interested in the issue of childhood obesity, what is more they are trying to educate the overweight adolescents in good nutrition. Furthermore, they also aim to cooperate with the child's family and even with other professionals, such as an endocrinologist, cardiologist, nutritionist etc. The second objective was to determine how obese adolescents perceive themselves. Opinions obviously differed, some children did not admit to being overweight/obese, while others saw themselves as the "fatsoes", "whales" ugly and useless, and that nothing suits them". Some suffer from depression, others try not trouble themselves with it. To fulfill the purpose of quantitative research 3 hypotheses were set. H1: Nurse educates adolescents about healthy eating. The hypothesis was statistically confirmed because research showed that nurses really do educate teenager.
With mental disabilities in institutional Sexual problems of clients facilities
PATEROVÁ, Michaela
Sexuality of persons with mental disability has represented a social taboo until recent times. Issues related to this topic attracted my attention so much, that I decided to obtain further information through my bachelor thesis. Bachelor thesis contains theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part contains three chapters. In the first chapter, I explore mental disabilities. In this chapter, I also focused on etiology and causes of mental disability. In the next chapter, I focused on dealing with the term the individual with mental retardation. The term disability is described there, and it is understood as a term covering the area of functional disorders, activities and participations of specific individual. In the next section I introduce sexual issues of persons with mental disability. First topic is the education and awareness for persons with mental disabilities. In addition, I dealt with sexual abuse of persons with mental disability. Sexuality is closely linked with partner relationships, which I also mention in my thesis. In conclusion of the theoretical part I dealt with parenthood and possibilities of protection against conception. The practical part of the bachelor thesis consists of the data collection while using qualitative research techniques with the method of unstandardized in-depth interviews. The basic complex was created by parameters of the enshrined theory, when not all parameters were used according to its comprehensiveness. I set the basic research complex according to positions of the staff of the Social Service Center in Jindřichův Hradec. Two research questions were raised. Whether the staff perceives sexual life of persons with mental disability as suitable and whether the information of the professional staff about sexual life of persons with mental disability are sufficient. On the basis of the research it was found that the professional staff has sufficient amount of information, but the sexual education and training in the institution does not take place at all. Interviews showed that employees do not feel being sufficiently competent in matters of sexual education and awareness. The interviews further revealed that the employees agree with partnerships of persons with mental disability. From the interviews it was also found that they agree with the use of contraception in case that the client starts living sexual life with her partner. In addition, I found out that the majority of respondents rather do not agree with the parenthood of persons with mental disability. Regarding the issue of sexual abuse of persons with mental disability, I found out during the interview that this problem was once solved in the institution. Employees aware that these people are an easy victim, but at the same time they do not undertake any prevention in the form of sexual education. These findings show that it would be appropriate to encourage establishing the protocol, in which there would be enshrined sexual issues of users of social services provided by this institution. The protocol could also serve to the purpose of prevention of sexual abuse. Professional training focused on communication between the staff and the user in the field of sexual education would be also appropriate.

Obesity as a stigma
SEKERKOVÁ, Tereza
The work is focused on the perception of obesity as a stigma. Obesity is a disease which characterizes the multiplication of body fat. It is accompanied by a series of somatic and psychic health risks. In connection with associated disease, the morbidity and mortality increase and rank among the second place of the most frequent causes of premature death. The word stigma refers to the person which is negatively distinguished in society. Obese man is exposed to predjudices and is stigmatized. He becomes the target of negative attacks at school, in employment, in personal life and also in broad society. Company looks at the obese individuals as stupid and lazy. In relation to the given issues, two objectives in work were determined. The first aim was to ascertain whether the patients suffering from obesity are stigmatized. The second objective was focused on the attitudes of general nurses to the obese patients. Further, there were four research issues. The first research issue was focused on the issues in partnership life by obese patients. The second research issue inquires whether it comes to the social isolation by the patients with obesity. The third research issue ascertained whether the nurses consider obesity the worsening factor during providing the nursing care. The fourth research issue concerned the negative attitudes of nurses to the obese patients. These research issues were all answered and consequence of it was that the obese patients face stigmatization in different directions and the attitudes of general nurses to the obese patients are negative. The work is divided into two parts. The first part is the theoretical part. The second part is the practical part which was processed by means of qualitative research investigations which were performed using the semi-structured interview. The interviews were then remade to case histories. They were run by seven nurses from the inpatient ward and with ten obese women. The interesting facts were found out on the basis of the processing of practical parts. It was revealed that the body weight by obese individuals is stigmatizing for them and they face number of obstacles. Obese individuals are exposed to social isolation. They do not like visiting the society and avoid larger number of people. They have difficulties in partner relationships, sometimes also in employment. Towards the fact that the obese individuals could be socially excluded or stigmatized bends also the majority of respondents of nurses, but during the provision of nursing care to obese individuals they do not occupy themselves with this problem. Personal attitudes of general nurses to obese patients are negative and it also follows from the responses of patient respondents. Therefore, the nursing diagnosis ?social isolation" was processed which could help to nurses in practice and their obese patients in the solution of this problem.
Unemployment and its psychological-social effects in different stages of life
MATOUŠKOVÁ, Monika
The Bachelor Thesis deals with the issue of the psychological and social impacts of unemployment on human life. Its main objective is to demonstrate these negative impacts, to reveal how unemployment affects everyday life of adult people and to find essential differences as for the understanding of unemployment in three phases of adulthood. In the end, the work illustrates what difficulties people of a different age group have to encounter. The theoretical part focuses on the current situation of the aforesaid issue. The attention is concentrated on the following chapters: the importance of work to human nature, labour market, unemployment and characteristics of each period of adulthood. This part is concluded by the detailed description of psychological and social impacts of human life. In order to accomplish the objectives of this thesis, quantitative research in form of non-standardized interview was executed. The respondents from the following age groups, young people from 18 to 26 years, middle aged people from 30 to 45 years and people from 45 to 60 years, were asked according to the previously set criteria. The part dedicated to research describes the personal experiences of individual unemployed respondents. The latter are divided into three groups which are summarized in the end of this research and later analysed in the chapter dedicated to the discussion. The results based on this research proved the existence of the majority of psychological and social impacts stated in the theoretic part. They confirmed the fact that the older generation struggles with the problem of unemployment more than younger generations. The basic difference in how to understand unemployment was proved on a different perception of the aforementioned impacts. This problem becomes more serious depending on the age, as well as the difference of psychological needs which get worse with regard to the older generation. The acquired results of this Bachelor Thesis should further serve in order to extend psychological and social care of unemployed people registered at the Employment Agencies. The example is illustrated on the multidisciplinary team providing primary prevention and comprehensive care of unemployed people.
