The Male Sex Worker and His Needs in Relation to a Health and Social Service
Hykyšova, Michaela ; Hradcová, Dana (advisor) ; Bosá, Monika (referee)
The domain of male sex work in the Czech Republic remains significantly under- researched. In 2020, the Ministry of the Czech Republic entrusted the NGO Rozkoš bez rizika, z.s. (henceforth R-R) to extend its services to include this group. R-R, which has been actively involved in providing health and social assistance to female sex workers since 1992, faces distinctive challenges in accommodating male sex workers. This group exhibits diverse characteristics and approaches to healthcare and social services compared to their female counterparts. The limited understanding of this new group contributes to a lack of interest among potential male clients, resulting in a significantly slow increase in new user numbers. These challenges stem from insufficient methodologies in addressing this specific group and ineffective promotional strategies. Current research on male sex work often revolves around risk assessment, potentially stigmatizing men engaged in the sex industry, labelling them as deviant and undesirable. This thesis critically examines the current approach and advocates for a novel perspective rooted in the sex-positive paradigm. This paradigm aims to shift the narrative form pathologizing sexual behaviours to embracing a comprehensive understanding of sexual experience, even within the context...

Martincová, Kateřina ; Jelínková, Marie (advisor) ; Frič, Pavol (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of sex trafficking in the Czech and Slovak Republics from the division of Czechoslovakia to the present. The aim of the thesis is to compare the development of both republics in the fight against this crime and emphasize the differences in their approaches to this issue. The thesis analyzes the main actors dealing with sex trafficking in both republics, namely the state sector and the non-profit sector. It examines how the policy regarding human trafficking operates in these republics and the level of cooperation between the non-profit sector and the state sector. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the theory of comparison and various comparative approaches used to compare both republics. It also addresses problematic factors that may influence the results of the comparison. The practical part of the thesis employs a mixed-method approach and gathers data through semi-structured interviews with experts on the subject. The research has shown that there are significant differences between the two republics. The main difference lies in the relationship between the ministry and the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, which subsequently influences the state of laws and policies in these areas. At the same time, the...

Sex as a lucrative job
DUCHÁČOVÁ, Šárka
Today, the life of a university student has long been associated with shared houses, two-minute noodles and second-hand clothes. But it seems there's now a new trend. A new study has shown that many students prefer to work as a luxury prostitute or go-go dancer instead of the more traditional waitressing or bar work. There has been an increase in the number of young people turning to the sex industry. Male and female university students have used sex as a source of income during their studies, either through erotic photography, pornography, or as escorts.
