Re-design of standard car shifting system for competition purposes

This bachelor´s thesis is focused on construction design of sequence shifting mechanism for a specific type of car. First part of thesis is performed to research of the current state of knowledge. The second part is a detailed analysis of possible conceptual solutions depending on the design of the car. The last part describes the final design and its assessment.

The topic of this bachelor thesis is Motor Vehicles Non-synchronous Transmission. The thesis is focused on the basic calculation formulas used in the design of gearboxes, the classification of gearboxes, the description of non-synchronous transmissions, including the description of their construction and the comparison between synchronous and non-synchronous transmissions. Also included are the principles of quickshift gearboxes. The thesis concludes with a list of several manufacturers of non-synchronous transmissions.
Race Car Gearbox

This master´s thesis deals with modification of the MQ200 gearbox in the six speed version, as well as the designing of a completely new five speed sequential gearbox for racing cars of the category Rally5. First a scan of the original gearbox housing was made and then a calculation of new possible final drive ratios was made. Finding a gear ratio that uses straight cut gears, and suits all given criteria was not successful. After that a completely new five speed sequential gearbox was designed. All gears are straight cut and checked by the norm ČSN 01 4686. Then a controlling calculation for the shafts, bearings, grooving and shifting stones was made.
