Class climate

The diploma thesis "The Class Climate" has a theoretical-empirical character. The main aim of this thesis focuses on measuring and comparing the classroom climete of standard and alternative schools.The introductory part comprises definitions of basic terms such as social group, school environment, atmosphere, climate. Furthermore, it investigates the theoretical clarification of the classroom climate and details the elements, types and actors of the climate. The thesis also closely notes the research methods of the classroom climete measuring. The author concludes the theoretical part with description of the issue of alternative schools. The practical part implementes through questionnaire survey with a participation of pupils from standard and alternative primary schools. There has been defined the aim, assumptions and selected the method of the classroom climate measuring. The conclusion summarizes the results of the questionnaire survey as well as verifies the assumptions.
Alcohol Consumption of Prague High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors

Angelika Nelly Petrová Abstract The bachelor's thesis called "Alcohol Consumption of Prague's High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors" is about the consumption of alcohol by high school students, secondary technical school students and secondary vocational school students and the potential reasons for this alcohol consumption. The factors of socialization, such as the impact of the family, peer groups and school, are discussed in detail. The topic is first analyzed in the theoretical section that presents the main concepts, which are later on applied in the practical section, as well as the surveys that were exploited and became an inspiration for the bachelor's thesis. The practical section defines the survey objective, the survey task and related issues, the methodology of data collection and processing and their possible alternatives. It describes the methodological tool (SAQ), its individual dimensions and changes made after the pilot study. The findings are first presented for the entire target group, than are the respondents classified by gender and type of school they attend, which shows a significant difference between men and women as to the volume of consumed alcohol. School Climate

The central point of this thesis is the matter of school climate. The text seeks to cover the important features of this phenomenon and to set its theoretical framework. The thesis itself consists of two main parts: theory and research. To understand school climate we cover the terminology in the first chapter of the theoretical part. The second chapter goes into deeper details of school climate such as its structure and effects. In the third chapter, we take a closer look at salient features and factors impacting school climate. Of these features, students and teachers are the most important elements contributing to the school climate and as such are covered most extensively. The last chapter discusses various criterions to assess the pattern of the school climate. The research section is centered around an opinion survey focused on school climate perception from the standpoint of students, teachers, and parents conducted in smaller city high schools. Next to the description of climates observed, the research also compares the key indicators as well as the views of the survey participants.
