Spiritual Accompanyment in a Salesian Religious Community

The thesis "Spiritual Accompanying in a Salesian Religious Community" is first trying to map out some possible concepts of the spiritual accompanying in a view of contemporary authors and then to show on the basis of ecclesiastical documents its place in the religious community (1st chapter). After that it deals with the manner of spiritual accompanying in the tradition of the salesian charism, specifically how it was realized by the founders - John Bosco (2nd chapter) and Mary Dominica Mazzarello (3rd chapter). On the basis of a previous, with regard to the current documents of The Daughters of Mary Help of Christian Institute and the teachings of its superiors, and considering the situation of the world today, the thesis points out some aspects which seem to be actual for the salesian style of accompanying today (4th chapter).

The aim of the thesis titled Comparison of the spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi and John Bosco, is to find commonalities follow Jesus Christ at St. and St. John Bosco. Francis of Assisi.The work seeks to answer the question whether the charisma of John Bosco in his time, analogous to the charism of St. Francis of Assisi. If so, what particular aspect of Jesus' life is inspired and specifically how it passed on to his followers. Basic literature from which the work is based, as the memory of St. John Bosco written by him personally and his close associates, the statutes and rules of life Salesian Brothers, writings and biographies of St. Francis of Assisi, the Franciscan sources. Using the Personnel method and comparison in terms of whether there are consistent references to Holy Scripture and tradition, and specifically how at the time these links St. John Bosco and St. Francis of Assisi lived and fulfilling. Elements of salesian spirituality in the pedagogical work of Magdalena Morano

The thesis deals with the elements of salesian spirituality in the pedagogical work of Magdalena Morano, a salesian sister who dedicated her life to education of poor girls in Sicily at the turn of the 19. and the 20. centuries. The first part of the work presents in outline the historical and political context of Italy and Sicily in the second half of the 19. century. The next part informs about the life of Magdalena Morano and her activity in Sicily. The fundamental part deals with the salesian preventive system realized by Magdalena Morano. Spiritual Accompaniment in the Salesian Spirituality

The thesis defines the term of spiritual accompaniment which is nowadays realized in the Salesian spirituality. Firstly, it introduces some characteristics of the 21st century which influence modern people´s lives. Then spiritual accompaniment and the Salesian spirituality based on the ideas of St. Francis de Sales and St. John Bosco are defined. In the following chapters it is explained how spiritual accompaniment helps to fulfil the Salesian mission and how the method of preventive system is used for accompaniment. It also presents the skills which a person trying to accompany others should have. Activities, in which the Salesian spiritual accompaniment is carried out, are introduced in the next part. In conclusion, several ways of realisation of spiritual accompaniment are suggested.
