Koprivnice 3.0 - Housing A++
Bitarová, Ivana ; Vlček, Zuzana (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The master's thesis is a proposal for an urban-architectural study on the territory of the former handball court in Kopřivnica. The work is a continuation of the pre-master's thesis, in which I searched for and investigated the ideal form of housing in Kopřivnice. Corporate housing is a response to the problem of unaffordable housing and socio-economic conditions in the city. The search for the ideal of corporate housing resulted in the concept of low intensive development with the creation of spaces between buildings, flowing from public, through semi-public and semi-private to private. This idea creates spaces for spending time within the community and spaces for relaxation surrounded by edible plants. The proposal emphasizes the positive impact of housing on landowners. The transition from a busier environment to a more intimate one is also reflected in the design of the gallery 's apartment building, where the gallery is the place of frequent interaction with the neighbors. Private exterior space is represented by loggias equipped with sliding shading panels. In addition to shade and privacy, perforated panels also create the effect of a living facade, as their position changes depending on the time of day or season. The design of the apartment building is designed as a modular prefabricated construction. In the study, I present 14 modular apartments, from which the investor can construct an apartment building according to his own requirements.

Is it better to live in country or in a city? Great access to work, school, shopping and culture or close proximity to nature, weekend barbecues with neighbors and tranquility. Do we have to choose? Is it possible to combine these qualities? Is the Baugruppe principle able to solve the housing conundrums of the current era? “Baugruppe is a group of people that combine their finances and efforts to construct an apartment building conforming to their notion of ideal living while remaining affordable.” (1) To me the Baugruppe lifestyle seems to be wedged in between the city experience and the more traditional way of living outside of it. In between the preplanned structure of the residences and the organic growth of the dwellings. In this bachelor’s thesis I examine these alternatives and their pros which beg to be merged together. I ponder the question: is it possible to embody this betweenness in the design of the residential complex – in its urban composition, its structure, its formal expression as well as its typology. On one hand prefabricated construction of apartment buildings based on market research brings monotone anonymity on the other hand it allows financial and construction efficiency. While the individual nature of a regular house project may enable freedom of expression, it may also hinder this freedom for any other project surrounding it. The houses themselves reflect the aesthetic values of their owners. The various reworks and additions reflect their changing needs. In Baugruppe the willingness to share space with members of the same community as well as outsiders meets the need to own real estate. The main goal of course still remains living well. In one’s own space, with neighbors of one’s own choosing, utilizing the economic and cultural assets of the city, while saving money that can be better used elsewhere. Be it larger living space or a greenhouse filled with tomatoes next to the house. (1) BAUGRUPPE! Manual, available on: http://www.baugruppe.cz/index.php?page=baugruppe-manual

The planning area is situated north-east from the historical centre of the city of Brno in the district Brno-north. The main dominant of the site is a loosely built-up area of The Children's Hospital. The uniqueness of this place is also related to the city’s historical centre, the view of the Špilberk Castle as well as the possibility of recreation and comfortable living. It is important to link it up with the built-up structure of the city district while adapting the street to the requirements of today's city. Therefore, the aim of the work is to increase the attractiveness of the area and thus enable the inhabitants to enjoy a pleasant environment for living and a city life.

The possibility of using law & economics as a tool for application and interpretation in the field of right to privacy and personality rights Abstract This thesis is focused on the area of economic analysis of law (law & economics) and it is based on an assumption that law & economics is a suitable addition to other methods of interpretation, especially as a part of purposive interpretation. We apply economic analysis to the field of privacy and personality rights, especially intrusion into privacy by libel, or slander. In other words, we use law & economics to help solve conflict between privacy rights and free speech rights. The thesis has six main parts. In introduction (part 1) we discuss reasons for the choice of this topic and formulate hypothesis, which is: (i) that law & economics can help distinguish which situations are covered by privacy rights protections, (ii) that using law & economics one can valuate privacy and therefore estimate damages for infringement of privacy rights and (iii) law & economics is capable of estimating pecuniary damages for infringement of personality rights. In the second part we focus on history of privacy rights in the United States from its humble beginnings in an academic paper by Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis to its modern iterations, such as reproductive rights...
