This bachelor's thesis deals with the subject of oil industry and its impact on economic but also political situation in the country. This issue is inherently connected with the theory of resource curse, which is analyzed from both political and economic points of view. The next part focuses on the history of Venezuela, which is closely interconnected with and influenced by the oil industry in the last century. The concluding section inquires into the significant decline of oil industry during the regime of Nicolás Maduro and contains the data, which are used as a base for an analysis of political and economic situation in Venezuela.

Horváth, M. Dutch disease in the economy of Saudi Arabia. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2018. The bachelor thesis focuses on the occurrence of Dutch disease in Saudi Arabia's economy. By using examples of other countries in which the Dutch disease has occurred in the past, basic terms are summarized and common principles discussed. The goal of the bachelor thesis is econometric testing of Dutch disease impacts in the economy of Saudi Arabia. For this purpose, the economy of Saudi Arabia was briefly described, including the development of significant economic indicators. The development of the economy and the results of the tests were evaluated with respect to the general economic theory and the theory of Dutch disease.
Norwegian Petroleum Sector

This study concerns Norwegian petroleum sector, main preconditions of its successful development and functioning and steps that were taken for this purpose. The study should give some insight into the Norwegian way of dealing with petroleum discoveries, primarily from the political, organizational and economic point of view. The paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter concerns general circumstances affecting the functioning of petroleum sector, such as political, economic and social situation of the state, its position, timing of the petroleum discoveries and available industrial capacities and expertise. The second chapter deals with the initial period of petroleum activities and the relation between the state and international petroleum companies. The licensing system and the development of domestic capacities are mentioned here. The third chapter concerns the approach of the state, its values and long-term strategies, formulation of petroleum policies and legislation, creation of domestic administration and division of responsibility between the ministry, Statoil and Norwegian Petroleum Directorate. The fourth and final chapter concerns some economic issues such as the resource curse, state's incomes, protection of domestic economy, long-term economic planning and the petroleum fund.
