Competences of pupils in the field of safety and health protection at the first stage of primary school

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of safety and health protection of 1st, 3rd and 5th year pupils. Its goal is to find out to what extent children are able to correctly identify risky situations and whether the competencies listed in the Framework Educational Program for Basic Education meet the criteria for the safety and health protection of children of younger school age. The text and content of the thesis are divided into two main parts. The theoretical part provides an insight into the issues of safety and health protection. It explains and describes the basic theoretical framework for addressing the research problem, interprets the perspective of the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education in safety and health protection, and examines the content, methods, and forms through which this issue is conveyed to children in education. The last chapter focuses on an overview and analysis of methodological and didactic materials for the 1st stage of primary school. Empirical research is conducted within the framework of a mixed research design and focuses on the analysis of competences in injury prevention and health protection among 3rd and 5th grade elementary school students. Mental Neglect Hazard Factors of Children Who Live in Their Own Families

The thesis deals with the family in the context of children's psychical neglect, especially with the risk parents and risk children as the main hazard factors. In the end of the theoretical part are defined long term risk situations as one of the possible hazard factors of psychical neglect. The practical part contents results of fully oficial document's analysis worked out by the Children Protection Social-Legal Section of Social Affairs Department of Municipal Office in Prachatice. As the hazard factors of psychical neglect, prematureness, cephalonia and minimal brain dysfunction occur in children registered on file of the Social Affairs Department. Especially emotional deprivation of mothers and mental allienation of fathers were detected in their parents as the main hazard factors. In addition it were one parent's alcoholism and a lack of time for children of the mother. The majority of these children likewise is mentally and physically abused.
