The Revitalization of a Small Watercourse

My diploma thesis deals with the issue revitalization of a small stream. Assessment and design of revitalization is done on Kuřimka stream which flows through the cadastral territory of the Moravian Knínice - Chudčice - Kníničky. In the diploma thesis were designed several of revitalization measures: stabilization of longitudinal tilt with the use of stone steps in the bottom and wooden thresholds, sedimentation reservoir for capturing sediment and slope stabilization using willow fences and gabions. Proposal of revitalization measures does not deteriorate runoff conditions.

Revitalization of River

The thesis deals with the issue of revitalization on the selected parts of the water course. Assessment of current condition and channel capacity and design of revitalization measures were made on a water course Veverka on the part of the river kilometer 0.650 - 1.000. This thesis first deals with the revitalization of historical aspect. When and why become to regulation of flows and what reasons leads to the effort to restore natural flows, the near-natural appearance. In the theoretical part is introduced an overview of revitalization measures with their brief description. The work includes the design of several revitalization measures: stabilization of slopes and bank scours fascine-gravel drum, wattle work and hand-placed rubble, removing dead wood, restoration of beaching and planting of vegetation accompaniment.

Revitalization of the selected section of river "Hartmanický potok"

Diploma thesis deal with revitalization Hartmanice river in district Svitavy. Section of interest is on 0,400 – 1,234 of river km. Part of this thesis is also rating current condition of stream and his vegetation accompaniment. Rating was made on base of reconnaissance terrain, my own measurement and photo documentation. In diploma thesis was design some revitalization steps: stabilization sink with wooden sills and stabilization slopes by using willow fences and similar precautions. There was designed total change of flow trend. Rating of current condition and condition of modified stream was made in software HEC-RAS.

Study of river restoration measures of suburban watercourse

This diploma thesis deals with the problem of river restoration. Selected watercourse, which was inappropriately technically modified, had been mapped in detail and land use map was compiled. The watercourse was divided into sections, which were described in detail and assessed for suitability for restoration action. The new nature-friendly channel was designed on the selected section of the watercourse. Technical graphic documentation was designed.

Assessment the effect of revitalizing measures of chosen peat bogs in the upper Vydra River basin on their water regime Abstract: Despite a number of research projects, the influence of peat bogs on the hydrological regime remains a largely unexplored topic. In the past, several peat bogs in the Šumava National Park were exposed to a very strong anthropogenic pressure. Subsequently, revitalizing measures were applied to mitigate the impact of human interventions, to stop the degradation of these precious habitats, and to reform the disturbed peat bog water regime. This thesis is focused especially on fluctuations of water table level and on the hydrological regime in the catchments of Rokytka and Cikánský Brooks. Thesis further develops the topic solved in author's bachelor thesis called "Peat bog revitalizing measures and their effect on runoff dynamics in the Otava River headstream area." It contains experimental research of the influence of drainage canals and revitalizing measures on water table fluctuation. It also aims to identify the extent to which meteorological factors contribute to changes in groundwater level and to assess the present state of revitalization measures and their influence on the runoff regime. Hodnocení vodních toků ve vztahu k rozvoji rekreace v regionu

The subject of this thesis is the evaluation of the selected sites watercourse in relation to the development of recreation in the region. The literature search focused on the evaluation of watercourses, their adaptations and their surroundings. This issue is addressed in terms of flood protection, as well as in terms of ecology, revitalization, recreation, urban and economic. The practical part is focused on a characterization and assessment of a particular model territory, i.e. the selected revitalized section of the watercourse in the Czech Republic. Evaluation is based on the chosen method and on the basis of the methods of public preferences. The result is a proposal for measures leading to maintain or to increase the recreational potential of the selected watercourse.

Vliv revitalizací vodních toků na rekreační hodnotu krajiny

An important part of the revitalization of aquatic environment is its revival, resto-ration to a state close to nature. In a broader sense these are such interventions, which tend to reinforce landscape values and concurrently water functions of the aquatic environment. At the same time revitalization has a significant importance in terms of increasing the recreational potential of the landscape. This work focuses on the analysis of landscape links - revitalization measures of watercourses - recreation. The aim is to create a clear overview dealing with recreational utilization and possibilities of watercourses revitalization. The result is a methodical process of evaluating and designing targeted revitalization measures, which lead to an increase in recreational potential and utilizing watercourses in urban and linking-up suburban areas.

Diploma thesis deal with the issue revitalization of water stream. Assessment and design of revitalization is done for watercourse Osoblaha, situated in the cadastral territory Osoblaha nad Studnice by Osoblaha. In diploma thesis were designed several of revitalization measures such as stone backfill, willow fence, groyne, casting willow cuttings to supplement the vegetation on river‘s banks, fish shelter and wirestone baskets (gabions). In the given section was designed pool and also was there designed boulder slip, which will replace present downflow step. After designing was made hydrotechnical calculations to demostrate preservation runoff conditions of present stream condition.
