Premises increase the competitiveness of consumer cooperatives in regions

Main purpose of this thesis was based on the analysis of the current situation and retail trends suggest the possibility of increasing competitiveness of consumer cooperatives, improve their market position and reach expected level of customer services in Czech retail market. Responses of consumer cooperatives customers correspond with other retail market customers. The introduction on the modern technologies is not required by customers and they would rather welcome the enlargement of existing retail services, especially the readable information on the packaging. Consumer cooperatives customers would like to use the loyalty program. The best option in that case would be the loyalty program on the central level to be available to all customers from consumer cooperatives. The implementation of detected solutions would help expand the existing base of consumer cooperatives customers and improve their position in the Czech retail market.
Economics and business management of selected retailers (Walmart)

The subject of the thesis "Economics and management of selected retail business" is to explore and analyze the environment in which the retail chain operates and assess their financial situation. The first part covers the theoretical background of the issue, particularly the definition of basic concepts of business and retail. The second part includes an analysis of American retail. In the third part is to describe Wal-Mart. The theoretical findings are applied in a situational analysis on Wal-Mart.
Environmentální dopady plánované prostorové expanze velkoplošného maloobchodu v České republice v roce 2008

Výzkum hodnotil plánovanou prostorovou expanzi se zaměřením na environmentální vlivy. Odhalil, že současný systém plánování není udržitelný a vede ke vzniku sídelní kaše, nárůstům intenzit dopravy v nezanedbatelných měřítcích a k záboru volných ploch. Dokládá, že neexistence či neúčinnost regulací je nebezpečná jak pro životní prostředí, tak potenciálně i pro vybavenost měst obchodem a službami. Výzkum uvádí, že je třeba hledat účinná opatření k posílení regulačních mechanismů, která jsou popsána v kapitole 5, ale zabývají se pouze regulací z pohledu ochrany životního prostředí. Aby tato regulace byla účinná, je nezbytné přijmout další opatření, které poskytnou nástroje pro regulaci obecním samosprávám a ke kooperaci krajských samospráv a ministerstev. Je nezbytné zabývat se také omezením ekonomické moci maloobchodních řetězců, která zahrnuje mimo jiné podporu drobných obchodníků a výrobců či omezení otevírací doby. Návrh těchto opatření přesahuje rozsah tohoto výzkumu. Výzkum poukazuje na nutnost rychlého zásahu.

The analysis of private labels at the czech retail market

The aim of this diploma thesis is the analysis of private labels and the consumer perception of private labels. The theoretical part is focused on brands, brand management, private labels and development at the world and the czech market. The practical part deals with research private label products and research among consumers. Based on the analysis, recommendations suggest retail chains to increase the share of private labels in total sales.
Retail trade in Belarus

In this thesis I focus on the retail trade development in Belarus in recent years and opportunities for entering the Belarusian retail market for foreign retailers. First of all I describe current situation in Belarus, both economic and political. Then I described the retail market, its basic indicators, the most common methods of sale, types of retail outlets and marketing communication. Finally I described consumer behavior of Belarusian customer and opportunities for foreign retailers to enter Belarusian retail market.
Potential for Enlargement of the Commercial Services Supply within the COOP Group

The main purpose of the bachelor thesis is the evaluation of the commercial services and potential for enlargement within the COOP group to increase competitive advantages. The theoretical part deals with the history of consumer cooperatives from the inception through the current situation in the Czech market of the retail trade in the relationship with characteristics of the market, customer and services. On the basis of the data from the Vision project a questionnaire about evaluation of the commercial services and potential for enlargement was created. The results are in many cases the same as the strategy of the COOP group. The respondents welcomed the product?s enlargement and technological equipment to simplify shopping. Customers would like to be a part of the bonus programs and gain some benefits from purchasing. If the COOP group implements some of those answers it will get constant customers and increase its Czech retail trade position.

Business strategy of small enterprise operating in retail trade

The main objective of the thesis is to deal with business strategy of a small company operating on retail trade market. First of all, retail trade as such is defined and its classification according to Czech Statistical Office is presented. In addition to this, important economic indicators of big vs. small retail enterprises in Czech Republic are confronted. The thesis also describes retail companies' business structure and lists examples of the biggest retail vendors and alliances on the Czech market. The other part of the thesis is concerned particularly with such companies and alliances, focusing on their business strategy. Finally, in the main part of the thesis, the strategy of big companies and alliances is faced with a strategy of a small retail outlet, which forms part of the international retail chain called SPAR. Basic facts about this retail outlet and description of its business strategy are completed by a research regarding the customers' satisfaction with the outlet.
