Draft Optimization of Company Website

The bachelor thesis deals with draft optimization of website for a transport company NOVA Blansko s.r.o. to increase the visibility on the internet and improve communication with customers. The work reveals individual processes of web optimization which should guarantee the positions on the first pages of search results when someone searches for relevant phrases in search engines. During a realization of this project the emphasis is put on minimizing costs. The last chapter called economic assessment evaluates the resulting costs and expected benefits.

Theory of contemporary web design and its application to development of responsive websites

By theoretical analysis we regard web design as a digital, design field, which is inherently creative. That is why we analyse it on the background of research in creativity, design and new media. We demystify the romantic view on creativity; analyse the componential, evolutionary and other views on creativity; find out that expertise and context are important for creativity. By analysis of theories of design we discard the perception of a designer as a "decorator"; define design as solving "wicked" problems and as a distinct type of thinking which is suitable for integrating art and technology as well as for innovations in the postindustrial society. We also analyse the relation between design and the user. We discuss code as "material" for web design. After the historical analysis of the evolution of Web we define an "axiomatic system" whereby we analyse Web. The axioms are: Web as a technological platform; Web as a new medium; Web as interface, consisting of code and the human side which exist in the broader sociocultural context; Web as interaction design; Web as a work existing and changing according to the immediate (spatiotemporal) context of use. With the analysis and axioms we elucidate why the current web design is responsive, "mobile first" and what role the mobile context...

Cash Desk System with a Tactile Device Support

The goal of this work was to design and implement cash desk system for restaurants. This system should have various optimizations for touch devices. The submitter of this project was company Draci Brno and the designed system corresponds to their specifications, which mostly consist of requirements for clear and effective interface. The HTML5 and CSS3 technologies were used for implementation of interface, which led to creation of responsive web design. The application part of the system is created in PHP with Nette Framework. The next part of the work focuses on implementation of the print client in C#, which allows the print of tax receipts with use of thermal printer.

The use of responsive design to optimize websites for mobile devices

With an ever-growing group of Internet users connecting via mobile devices it is necessary to prepare websites for a new group of visitors. This thesis presents a comparison of the various methods how to customize a website for mobile devices and detailed description of responsive web design. The thesis also contains a description of the differences in the behavior of mobile and desktop users and their different needs. The output of the practical part of thesis is a new form of website for hotel Zlatý Lev located in Jablonec nad Nisou, which are designed according to the principles and the rules of responsive web design. Thanks to this we will achieve the best user experience on different devices, from desktop computers, tablets and even smartphones.
