Family Resiliency of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The aim of this diploma thesis is to research the area of family resiliency of children with autism spectrum disorder. The theoretical part deals with the resiliency phenomenon in general, stressful situations and strategies for their management by so-called coping mechanisms. This part is followed by family resilience, which provides brief description of the concept of the family, family resiliency itself and then informs readers about the specific models of family resiliency, out of which the most well-known concept comes from the McCubbins. The third chapter of the diploma thesis focuces on a family of a child with a disability. This part of the diploma thesis explains how the family responds to the child's disability, what adaptation phases they go through, and also reflects factors that can have positive impact on the adaptation of the family in a difficult life situation. The last chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of autism spectrum disorders. It helps the readers understand the topic of autism spectrum disorders, their manifestations, partial diagnoses and also the effects of autism spectrum disorders on the family of an autistic child. Psychology in Crisis Management: Stressful and Protective Factors in Police Officers working in Mass Casualty Disaster

This work focuses on the area of coping in members of intervening Integrated Rescue System (IRS) bodies in rescue and disaster work following a mass traffic accident. The assumptions is that a vast mass traffic accident is a type of disaster that places increased demands on coping not only for affected citizens concerned, but also on intervening professionals. It is an unexpected, urgent, and emotionally and physically demanding event that requires flexibility, heightened cooperation between different professions, and a non-standard work performance. It is an event where it is not possible to apply routine operative procedures and management. A specific group, which this work explores in depth, is that of police officers. This professional group can be expected, in the given context, to be subjected to an increased burden in comparison to other IRS bodies - medics and firefighters. Protective factors of primary school pupils and their meanings.

The aim of this thesis is mapping the protective factor problems of pupils of the 6th to 9th grades and their meaning. It follows mostly social support, resiliency and self-efficacy as an important protective factors. It also defines protective and risk factors. The thesis focuses on the influence of different protective factors on the life style and well-being of the secondary degree of a primary school in the context of child development, with the emphasis on perception of social support from parents, teachers and classmates, using the standardized research CASSS-CZ.
The case study of motivational structure of resiliency

The thesis deals with the theme of resiliency and motivational structure. The theoretical part of the thesis includes several thematic areas {--} stress, stress management (coping), resistance, motivation and motivational structure. The practical part of the thesis is consisted of the three case studies, interpretations of these studies and interpretation of Personal Concern Inventory (PCI), which was used to detect their motivational structure Aim of the work is to find out the basic personal characteristics of resilient individuals, their coping strategies and motivational structure.
