Advisory Bodies and Expertise in the Czech Politics - Epistemic Communities and the Influence on the Reforms of Higher Education and Pension System Master thesis Bc. Kateřina Merklová The Master thesis Advisory Bodies and Expertise in the Czech Politics - Epistemic Communities and the Influence on the Reforms of Higher Education and Pension System concerns with the relation between politics and expertise. So-called epistemic community represents the knowledge interpreter that we consider an independent actor in the political process. In the theoretical part of the text, we have explained the original definition of the concept as well as its critics and case studies that cover various contexts. Following most of the authors, we have applied a looser definition of the concept and deconstructed its rigid criteria. The empirical part of the thesis presents a case study (N=4) based on comparative methods that analyzes variable influence of four particular epistemic communities (the authors of the White Paper on Tertiary Education, Bezdek's Committee, Bezdek's Committee II, and the National Economic Council) on policy-making process and its sources. The impact of pension reform on public and commercial insurance

The aim of my thesis entitled "The impact of pension reform on public and commercial insurance" is primarily to assess the current state of public insurance, which includes social insurance, as the first pillar of the pension system, the evaluation of the other two pillars and reforms associated with it. I describe to you the functioning of the system of public health insurance and commercial insurance options. Also, as the reader will learn some background information functioning medical facility. As a result, I will summarize the effects of reform and attempt to assess.

Life insurance and reform of pension system

This diploma work is concerned with theme of life insurance and actual pension system in Czech Republic. It analyses causes of untenability of our system and what are the possibilities of resolution. This work analyses also particular steps of the reform of pension system and its consequences. Investment life insurance in relation to actual financial crisises is also analysed. The second half of my work is about life insurance, its division and about analyse its product. Also retirement insurance is descibed, which is very close to the life insurance. The goal of my work is to describe our actual pension system and also to find some resolution how to precede adverse effect of the global problem of growing old of population.

We compare a performance of pension funds and insurance company. Individual chapter is about process of pension reform and peroration, I sum a results of reform of pension system.

Life insurance and reform of pension system

This diploma work is concerned with the analysis of life insurance. In addition to this it also touches upon retirement insurance in the Czech Republic as a possible tool of maintaining a financially secure standard of living in the old age in connection to the current reform of the pension system. What is paid attention to in the analysis is the pension system itself and also the demographic progress as the main cause of the insufficiency of the present-day pension system. Next, there follows an analysis of the proposals and the conclusive verison of the pension reform as well as of the way in which it will affect the life insurance market in our country. The final part of the work deals with the products of life and pension insurance and offers a comparison between these. The goal of this work is to clarify the the pension system itself and the pension reform, to point out the necessity of individual ex-ante savings and last but not least to bring in the possible products available on the market.
