Study of properties of polymer-modified cementitious adhesive material during shear stresses
Powetz, Dominik ; Nováček,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the study of the properties of the polymer modified cementitious tile adhesives during shear stress. In the theoretical part of this thesis is described the influence of absorption of the tile and the content of polymer powder on tensile adhesion and shear strength. After that, the review of known methods for determining the shear strength of adhesives and mortars was done. In the last step of the theoretical part, this bachelor thesis is focused on the most common building defects and failures that occur during the tiling and their subsequent use in the construction of wall cladding elements and ceramic floor tiles. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on the design and testing of an alternative method for the determination of shear strength of bonding, with the effort to achieve the simplest and the most economical option for testing (easy sample preparation, low demands on instrumentation) with the possibility of replacing the known method DIN 18156-3 for testing shear strength of cementitious tile adhesives.
Study of deformation and adhesion of cement adhesives at different stages of polymeric modification
Kozielová, Silvie ; Nováček,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
The content of the diploma thesis deals with the study of the flexibility and adhesion of cement tile adhesives, which are modified by a polymeric additive. The effects of the quantity and type of redispersible polymer powder used on the properties of the adhesives, in particular on the deformability of adhesives and their adhesion, are monitored. The theoretical part summarizes the basic data concerning classification of the ceramic tiles, information about the adhesives, the processed part concerning the polymer modified adhesives and the effects of the polymeric additives on their properties. The practical part deals primarily with the study of adhesion and flexibility of polymer modified adhesives and study of microstructure of selected materials.
Study of the moisture-transport properties of polymer cementious screed for external thermal insulation composite systems
Janíček, Vít ; Nováček,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with study of the moisture-transport properties of polymer cementious ETICS mortars at different doses of redispersible polymer powder. The effect of aerate on these screeds is also investigated. The thesis also evaluates the effect of use various external surface treatments due to risk of cumulate moisture in the perimeter structure.
Possibilities of Silica Use for the Production of Polymer-modified Mortars
Heřmánek, Petr ; Rovnaníková, Pavla (referee) ; Žižková, Nikol (advisor)
This bachelor thesis targets the posibillity of using pozzolanic active additives for polymer modified mortars. Monitors properties of modified mortar with the partial replacement of cement binder by pozzolanic active materials, but also the influence of the addition redispersible polymer powder to mortars. Selected criteria for evaluation and comparsion of these modified materials are tensile flexular strength and compressive strength.
Reactive powder concretes (RPC) with redispersible polymer powders
Ondrůšková, Nela ; Másilko, Jiří (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
The thesis entitled "Reactive Powder Concretes (RPC) with Redispersible Powder Polymers" deals with the description, design and development of a material with increased ballistic resistance, i.e. with increased resistance to high-speed dynamic stresses due to interaction with a projectile. The high mechanical properties of RPC are achieved mainly by reducing the water coefficient, using a large dose of superplasticizers and high strength aggregates to achieve the densest possible structure. The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of addition of redispersible powder polymer to RPC composite and to find the optimum type and amount of polymer to form a co-matrix, thus improving material properties such as flexural tensile strength and toughness. The preparation, procedure and processing of each formulation are described in each chapter, and the properties of these materials and observations of their behaviour under ballistic loading are described. Experimentally, the thesis focused on monitoring the effect of polymer type and amount, particularly on the change in bulk density and on compressive and flexural tensile strength. The results obtained for the different formulations were compared with each other and related to a reference. SEM analysis was performed to monitor the polymer film formation in the matrix. Based on the tests, two formulations with the best comprehensive properties were selected. These two formulations were subjected to DOP ballistic test.
