Possibilities for testing and improving the durability of aerated concrete
Klaudová, Dana ; Voves, Jiří (referee) ; Hubáček, Adam (advisor)
This master´s thesis studies qualities of aerated concretes, is monitoring influenece concrete composition, quantity of aerating admixture and plasticized admixture on the durability of concrete. It is monitored especially air flow and his influence on durability on concrete. In theoretical part are explained mechanisms of damage concrete, phenomena, which influence compressive strength of concrete and then there are the results of resistance against the influence of chemical defrosting substances. In experimental work were designed, mixed and tested recipe of concerete. We investigated different atribute, especially resistance of the chemical defrosting and air flow in hardened concrete. The result of master´s thesis is effect of flow air in concrete on the durability.
Study of the influence of additions on the durability of aerated concrete
Halešová, Adéla ; Voves, Jiří (referee) ; Hubáček, Adam (advisor)
The aim of this work is to summarise and consider the possibilities of using admixtures and their influence on the durability of aerated concrete. This bachelor's thesis is based on research findings concerning aerated concrete. Furthermore, it deals with the study of inert and active additions. The experimental part is focused on testing trial samples with the addition of admixtures. It examines what is the rate of the possible chosen physically-mechanical features such as the rate of air density, the durability of surface against the effect of water and chemical defrosting substances and achieving the required strength.
Study of impacts affecting the lifetime of cement concrete coverings in the Czech Republic
Láznička, Josef ; Ťažký, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis deals with the study of cement – concrete coverings. The aim of the thesis is a summary of current knowledge of these constructions. The experimental part of this paper deals with the design of concrete for the lower layer of cement – concrete cover. Emphasis is placed on the elimination of microcracks and to increase the lifetime of these construction.
The influence of the preparation and editing of test specimens for testing the durability of concrete and concrete products
Šťastný, Antonín ; Brožovský, Jiří (referee) ; Hubáček, Adam (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis examines the influence of the preparation and editing of test specimens for testing the durability of concrete and concrete products. In particular it monitors the effect of surface treatment and storage of test samples on durability of concrete. The theoretical part describes the mechanism of damage to the samples exposed to salt scaling. It further describes the test methods, which identifies and describes the durability of concrete and concrete products according to the test standards in force in the Czech Republic. Three types of concerete was proposed and mixed in the experimental part of this work. They were using the same raw materials and were differed in degree of aeration. Samples were made from each types of concrete. Thay had different surface treatment, various degrese of saturation before the salt scaling test and the samples were compared with each other.
Options of determining the frost resistance of concrete in a structure
Jindrová, Barbora ; Vymazal, Tomáš (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with different methods of determining levels of degradation of concrete due to freezing, also considering the options of freeze thaw resistance determination in structure. At first the properties of concrete and possible mechanisms of concrete degradation are described – mainly the effects of freezing water in the inner structure and of the combination of freezing water and de-icing chemicals on the surface. Principle and properties of air-entrained concrete are also mentioned. An overview of the approaches that current standards use to determine the freeze-thaw resistance of concrete is listed, followed by description of the tests that are used on air-entrained concrete specimens in the main part of the thesis. A portion of the test specimens was made in moulds while the rest was obtained from structure (concrete block). The non-destructive tests used are evaluated in several different ways and their results are compared with the destructive tests. Comparison and evaluation of different approaches used to determine the freeze-thaw resistence of concrete are the main outcome of this thesis.
Study of effect of the introduced parameters to aerate of aerated concrete
Urbánek, Libor ; Voves, Jiří (referee) ; Hubáček, Adam (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on aerated concrete, their parameters of composition and properties. Further, the thesis focuses on the study of the effect of the introduced aeration on fresh concrete on its properties in both fresh and hardened state. Emphasis is placed on the assessment of the aeration rate in fresh concrete, as compared to the various parameters of hardened concrete, especially the content of hardened concrete and the durability of concrete. The study is complemented by a description of air pore distribution tests in fresh and hardened concrete, a description of individual aeration additives and a study of the influence of aeration additives on the durability of concrete.
