Evaluation of efficiency of professional football clubs
Krause, Veronika ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Voráček, Josef (referee)
Title: Evaluation of efficiency of professional football clubs Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to identify the efficiency of English Premier League football clubs in the 2015/16 to 2018/19 seasons using two selected data envelopment analysis models and compare the results. Subsequently, to define what optimisation of inputs and outputs would lead to maximum efficiency. Methods: The method of data envelopment analysis, based on linear programming, was used to determine the effectiveness. There were chosen two approaches to this method, each with a different set of inputs and outputs, both assuming variable returns to scale and focusing on inputs. Results: Two clubs were identified as being maximally effective throughout the whole period. Some relegated clubs were also rated as 100% efficient. The optimization of the variables primarily proposed a reduction of inputs. Keywords: football, efficiency, data envelopment analysis, decision making unit, DEA-BCC
Studio Damúza
Řezníková, Veronika ; PROKOP, Petr (advisor) ; SULŽENKO, Jiří (referee)
The bachelor thesis named Studio Damúza analyses the current state of the eponymous production unit, founded 17 years ago as an alternative stage to the DISK Theatre of Prague´sTheatre Faculty of the Academy od Performing Arts. The term "production unit" is explained on the example of several other production units, comparing the operation of Studio Damúza, Jedefrau.org and ART Prometheus. It gives a brief outline of Studio Damúza´s history. If further describes its current operation, financing and attemps at obtaining a production space run solely by Damúza. The poetics of Studio Damúza are characterised through the current repertoire. In the end, the thesis offers several possibilities of advancing the work of Studio Damúza. It looks for problems that create obstacles and tries to offer solutions.
Models of Data Envelopment Analysis and their application on District Courts in the Czech Republic
Kohoutová, Adéla ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Šindelářová, Irena (referee)
Our focus in this paper is to evaluate the efficiency of the District Courts in the Czech Republic. As the method how to find out we used Data Envelopment Analysis. There are two DEA models used for the measure of efficiency. One of them is the CCR model what means with constant returns to scale the other is the BCC model what is one with variable returns to scale. According to them DEA indicated three respectively four efficient Decision Making Units (DMU). For inefficient DMU were determined the ways how to modify inputs and output these units and make them efficient. We worked with five inputs and one output. The data for analysis come from branch offices of every District Court and from the website of the Czech Judiciary.
Aplication of DEA models to assess efficiency on selected banks in the Czech Republic
Krpcová, Markéta ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Sekničková, Jana (referee)
This thesis deals with the evaluating efficiency of Czech banks using data envelopment analysis (DEA), which is a method based on mathematical programming. Each bank is then evauluated with the relative efficiency coefficient that indicates the efficiency or inefficiency of the particular bank. The work is further developed the classical approach of bank performance measuring in comparison to DEA, researches that have applied DEA models to evaluate banks in the past in different countries and detailed analysis of the results of the precessed model.
Data envelopment analysis and their application in chosen branch
BANDÍK, Tomáš
Data envelopment analysis is one of methods how to compare the efficiency of transformation of the inputs to the outputs among production units. It helps to improve the efficiency and to identify weak points in production systems. The target of DEA is to divide focused subjects to efficiency and non-efficiency groups, comparing the amount of used sources as inputs and the amount of outputs. At first there are described some important conceptions in theory part. Then explanation of principes DEA follow and basic models analysis description too. The desription supposes constant returns to scale and variable returns to scale. There is contain a chapter devoting to description of using software. The practical part of my bachelor thesis is focused on using DEA to compare different countries by HDI ( human developmet index) The solution of this case work with characteristics used by calculating HDI.
