Environmental Principles and Their Application in International, European Community and Czech Law

The thesis is focused on several fundamental principles of environmental law and their application in international, European Community and Czech law. The introduction is dedicated to a general interpretation of the concept of "principle" as well as its definition purely within the legal field. The aim of this legally-theoretical part is to acquaint the readers with the concept of "principle" and "legal principle" and to point out their crucial role in all of the legal fields and especially in environmental law. Subsequently, the author is focusing on selected principles, the largest part being dedicated to the default principle of sustainable development. In this work there are applied in particular the methods of content analysis and synthesis, drawing on legislation, literature, case law and other legal or non-legal documents, both in the definition of basic terms related to the subject of the work and the discussion of selected principles. This work provides a detailed legal analysis of selected fundamental principles of environmental protection using comparative method to define their role and application in all the mentioned levels of law.
