Svobodová, Barbora ; Klenková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Mlčková, Marie (referee)

The following chapter which analyzes the system of care for premature newborns in the Czech Republic focuses on two forms of care, acute care and followed-up. Next part has been devoted to issue of premature infants from logopedical perspective and describes the physiological process of development of communication abilities of child and based on current knowledge, especially foreign research, analyzes the peculiarities of speech development of preterm infants. The last and key part of the work, based on case studies, analyzes the specifics of development of communication abilities of four originally extremely and very preterm children of multiple pregnancies in the background of the their overall psychomotor development. Quality of life in children with retinopathy
Stejskalová, Kateřina
This work is drafted with the needs of current theory and practice of special education for visually impaired persons. The basic ideological pillar is a subjective evaluation of the impact of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) on the quality of life of individuals with emphasis on the pediatric population. The central aim of this work is based on longitudinal qualitatively oriented research to extend the theoretical basis of special education for visually impaired persons, that has not reflect the issue of quality of life of persons with ROP yet. Another aim is to open up space for applied research. Scientific phenomenon to assess the quality of life is in the sphere of interest of many scientific disciplines, focused on the broadest sense of human. Currently, emphasis is laid mainly to subjective assessment of quality of life of specific client group in order to ensure adequate level of support and optimization of complex scale intervention. In this context was created a concept of evaluation of the quality of life in children's population with ROP, which is currently a main cause of childhood blindness in developed and moderately developed countries. The knowledge gained should be ideally reflected at several levels - at the theoretical level to enrich the theoretical bases of special education for...

"Radiographic examination of premature infants using a mobile x-ray unit"
DUPAČOVÁ, Markéta
My thesis deals with the issues of X-raying of premature infants by means of a mobile X-ray device. I have concentrated on chest skiagraphy of prematurely born children, on mobile diagnostic technology, on X-raying techniques, on the correct imaging procedure, X-ray image quality, but also on radiation protection and radiation load the infant organism is exposed to during skiagraphy. My aim is to apply the experience in X-raying of premature infants by means of a mobile skiagraph and to compare the X-ray image quality and radiation load obtained in two different devices and techniques. I performed the comparison of radiation load and X-ray image quality on a sample of prematurely born children examined at the Radio-diagnostic Department of Písek Hospital in 2007 through 2010. The experience in application of the mobile diagnostic technology in a special group of patients obtained from this research may also be applied at further workplaces involved in the same field.
