Jan Deyl's Conservatiore and the High School for Visualy Impaired and Employment of his Graduates in their Profession

This thesis is loosely based on the author's previous bachelor thesis, which dealt with beginnings of a systematic care for the blind in the Czech lands in the early 19th century and with development of this care during the 19th and the following centuries. It described the foundation of the current School of Jaroslav Ježek in the Loretánská street in Prague 1, the establishment of the so called Klárův ústav in Prague 4 and of the Jan Deyl Conservatory and Secondary School for the Visually Impaired on Maltese square in Prague 1. The essential part of this work was the tribute to the personality of PhDr. Jan Drtina, who was a pianist, a music educator and for a long period the director of the Jan Deyl Conservatory and Secondary School for the Visually Impaired. The main part of this thesis is a testimony of selected graduates of the Jan Deyl Conservatory and Secondary School for the Visually Impaired who are from different generations and who have various degrees of their visual handicap. This work focuses on their childhood, studies and especially on their employment. Furthermore, this thesis covers attitudes and opinions of former administration members of this special school. Contemporary Woman in Modern Egyptian Prose

The thesis examines the image of the modern Egyptian woman in the prose narrative of four contemporary women writers of Egypt. They are Hala El Badry, Salwa Bakr, Mona Prince and Miral al-Tahawy. Based on the interpretation and analysis of six selected literary texts this paper will aim at uncovering the authors' view on the woman of today's Egypt. The thesis will try to answer its research question, considering the historical development of woman's role and standing in Egyptian society, as well as taking into account the development of women's literature in Egypt. The research question is as follows: What is the woman's role in contemporary Egypt and how her standing in society is reflected in literary works of contemporary women writers of Egypt? The thematic analysis of the selected works will therefore focus on the fate of the main female protagonists, it will examine the extent of personal fulfilment within the field of their family life, love, intimacy and relationships, work and many others; it will point at difficulties a woman in Egypt might be facing nowadays; the analysis will also present the world women live in and it will study their opinion on societal norms, mores and religious traditions which originate in the patriarchal organisation of Arab societies and can be in a direct...
Development of position of handicap people (mentally and physically) in society since suit modernization till present time

Tato práce se věnuje problematice postavení handicapovaných osob ve společnosti, která byla a je ovlivňována chápáním koncepce péče o handicapované jedince a vývojem ústavních zařízení. Práce obsahuje stručné popsání dějin handicapu, přičemž největší pozornost je věnována problematice handicapu od vzniku modernizačních proměn společnosti až po současnost. Dále tato práce obsahuje empiricko-historickou část, jejímž záměrem je analyzovat vývoj ústavních zařízení pro handicapované osoby od počátku proměny společnosti z tradičního typu k modernímu až po současnost. Pro tento výzkum byla použita analýza dokumentů jako výzkumná metoda. Toto výzkumné šetření potvrdilo dvě výzkumné hypotézy. Zaprvé bylo potvrzeno, že šířením osvícenských ideálů v kontextu modernizačních procesů ve společnosti došlo k proměně koncepce péče o handicapované osoby. Zadruhé bylo potvrzeno, že modernizační proměny, které proběhli ve společnosti ve 20. století, ovlivnili především v pozitivním smyslu institucionální uspořádání i formy organizace péče o handicapované osoby. Divorce and family constellation after divorce

This thesis is theoretical. It consists of three chapters. The first chapter explains the basic concepts related to divorce and historic and contemporary legal context. The theme of the second chapter are situations and changes in the life of divorced women, pitfalls, whom must face and the opportunity, how to cope with them. The third chapter is devoted to the status of women in the labor market, the feminization of poverty and possible discriminatory tendencies of the employer.
