Bibliografic identification BESTOVÁ, Zuzana. The effect of The Feldenkrais method on body schema. Prague: Charles University in Prague, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of rehabilitation and exercise medicine, 2012. 96 pages. Supervisor Mgr. Magdaléna Lepšíková. Abstract The diploma thesis deals with neurophysiological concept of body schema and evaluation of the effect of the Feldenkrais method (FM) on its quality. The research comprises two groups of probands without motor system disorders. The participants passed an investigation of the body schema quality by the following tests: a test of estimation of body dimensions (width of mouth, width of shoulders, width of hips and length of foot), a modification of Petrie's test, a test of proprioception and a test of graphestesia. The examination was accomplished before FM investigation and after the course. The first group (group A) comprised 13 individuals (5 males, 8 females) who participated in a semestral course of FM, the second group of probands (group B) included 17 individuals (3 males, 14 females) underwent a two days long FM program. A significant improvement (p = 0,0027) in the estimation of the length of foot was detected after FM intervention in group B. There was not a significant improvement in any of estimated body dimensions in group A....

Michalová, Petra ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Křivánková, Markéta (referee)
Title: Effects of movement lesson inspired by Feldenkrais Method on thorax and pelvis movement in individuals after leg amputation Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the monitoring of influencing the extent and perception of movement of the chest and masters after the intervention of an exercise lesson inspired by the Feldenkrais method (FM) in individuals after amputation of the lower limb. Method: It is a work with a theoretical-empirical structure, a quantitative approach with a controlled study. The topic of the research was monitoring the influence of the Feldenkrais method on the statics and dynamics of the pelvis, postural stabilization and subjective perception. The accuracy of pelvic reduction, the range of motion of the pelvis and chest were examined. The flexibility of the hamstrings and lumbar region was tested using the Sit and reach test. Subjective perception after the intervention was tested using a survey. A total of five probands were tested, each of whom underwent a separate intervention in the form of a Pelvic Lesson lesson from the Feldenkrais method. Results: After the intervention of the Pelvic Clock lessons from FM, the probands did not increase the smoothness of the stabilizing movements of the pelvis. There have been improvements in changes in...

Pehalová, Barbora ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šifta, Petr (referee)
Title: The Influence of Pelvic Clock lesson from the Feldenkrais Method® on the Proprioception and the Range of Pelvic Movement Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate the influence of Feldenkrais method (FM) on the lumbar spine and pelvic movement functions. Specifically, changes in the ability of pelvis reposition, changes in stabilize pelvic movements and postural changes were tested after completing one FM lesson Pelvic Clock. Method: It is theoretical empirical work where quantitative research with elements of controlled study was used. For the study, 30 probands aged 20 to 30 years were selected and divided into two groups. Both groups underwent a pelvic reposition test twice. The second measurement took place 40 minutes after the end of the previous measurement. At this time interval, 15 probands in the experimental group underwent an intervention in the form of the Pelvic Clock lesson of the Feldenkrais Method. The control group of 15 probands in this time period focused on physically undemanding activities, i.e. sitting, walking, etc. The following parameters were determined for all probands: accuracy of pelvic reposition, range of pelvis movement, pelvic stabilization movements, and pelvic tilt change. The results are processed into graphs and statistically evaluated....
