The end of World War II in Prachatice District

The bachelor's thesis entitled The End of the Second World War in Prachatice Region attempts to use archival sources and other available literature to process the last months of the end of the Second World War in this South Bohemian town. Although it is a topic of the recent past, there are not many sources of knowledge in the case of Prachatice. The introductory part includes a brief description of Prachatice and its history, followed by the development from 1938 to the end of 1944. In other parts, he deals with the events of the first four months of 1945, when the Revolutionary National Committee was formed, refugee transports passed through Prachatice, the railway station was attacked by American pilots, and the German city leadership decided whether the city would defend itself against the incoming American army. The key part is the events in May 1945, when the city was liberated. Also mentioned is task 3. U.S. Army, which liberated Prachatice. The final chapters are devoted to the post-war operation of the American army in this region and the post-war removal of the Germans from Prachatick. The main source was SOkA in Prachatice, which provided the most important sources for writing the thesis. The thesis, The testimony of the people who survived the Holocaust, is based on the authentic testimony of the Jews who were sent to concentration camps during the 2nd World War, their lifes before the war and after the war are also presented in this thesis.Furthemore, the thesis discribes the impact of this experience on their present lives.
The Jews on the Sumava - History and Present

This thesis deals with the charting of jewish settlement in Sumava and Posumavi, and also with history and present of the selected villages - Vimperk, Čkyně, Vlachovo Březí, Volyně, Dub, Prachatice and Volary. The first part characterises the jewish settlement in Sumava and Posumavi. Furthermore, it describes aforementioned villages and occupied with their jewish history, sights, personalities and current condition. The second part contains questionaire with 10 basic questions, regarding to jewish history at Prachaticko, and also contains comparison of three surveyed schools: Elementary school Husinec, Elementary school Vlachovo Březí and Prachatice High school. In every surveyed school, there were questioned scholars of 8th and 9th classes. The best results reached scholars of Prachatice High school, then of Elementary school Vlachovo Březí and the last place tooked by scholars of Elementary school Husinec. Despite the fact that this issue is not occupied until 9th class, knowledge of scholars in 8th class is high.

Death March through Volary in 1945

This work deals with transports and death marches during World War II. in Europe. I describe processes and transports death, why and how are carried out. The main theme of the work is on a death march through Volary in 1945. In this chapter I describe the death march, the parties and his entourage. He is also a Jewish cemetery in Volary former guards and life of this death march after the war. The final part involves memories of Regina Pelánková (Lazarovičová). She remembers his family life in a concentration camp and death march. I mention this as it was returning home after the war for Mrs. Pelánková and how continued her life and that of other family members.
The Ethical Heritage of The Holocaust Education in Projects of KreBul o.s.

Thesis concerns about ethical heritage of the holocaust education in projects which are realized by KreBul, o.s. In theoretical part, the multicultural education and of present world was chracterized as a world of meeting different cultures; it is focused on the issue of the Jewish genocide in World War II. In the second stage of theoretical part, there are introduced particular activities of KreBul, o.s., which are oriented on the holocaust education in the spirit of multicultural enlightenment. Perception and understanding of events linked with the holocaust with a focus on the classification of lectural activities is considered in practical part of the thesis. Viewpoint of young people on the theme of the holocaust is gained by interpretation and analysis of individual answers of respondents; particulary the ethical viewpoint on education about events from the end of World War II and perception of some ethical categories (evil, suffering).
