Time Synchronization in Computer Networks
Matoušek, Denis ; Kořenek, Jan (referee) ; Martínek, Tomáš (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with design of a solution for time synchronization in computer networks that is a crucial problem of many network applications. Based on analysis of protocols for time synchronization, PTP protocol was chosen as an appropriate candidate. The thesis describes the implementation of the design for a special network interface card and demonstrates features of the solution in several tests. A part of the solution processing precise timestamps was implemented in FPGA chip on the network card while PTP messages are processed in a software application. Values of configurable parameters of the application were determined based on analysis of the network card properties and results of particular tests. It was achieved accuracy in order of tens of nanoseconds.
Library for Fast Network Traffic Processing
Vokráčko, Lukáš ; Viktorin, Jan (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is focused on time-critical operations in context of computer networks. Processed operations are packet classification, specially one-dimensional classification, longest prefix matching using binary search on prefix length and TreeBitmap, pattern matching using Aho-Corasick, regular expression matching and packet header analysis and extraction. Purpose of this work is to design API for library implementing these operations. Implementation speed of these operations is measured on Intel and ARM platforms.
Modelling and Reliability Analysis of Campus Network at the BUT
Kraus, Zdeněk ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (referee) ; Veselý, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis informs about technologies and architecture of computer network at BUT.  It describes chosen technologies and some of theirs variants.  Further, it contains simulation model design of a network switch device.  That is followed by the model implementation with detailed description of model parts. Then, the model is tested on a set of simulation scenarios and it is evaluated in comparison with theoretical basis and real devices.  In conclusion, thesis suggests future model development and improvements.
Computer network design for the school building
Marčišák, Petr ; Novotný, Milan (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
My Bachelor thesis deals with the design of the computer network for the school building block . The main reason is increase number of requests for connection to the school network or internet and also demands of the modern education.
Network Anomaly Detection
Pšorn, Daniel ; Puš, Viktor (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis deals with detecting anomalies methods in network traffic. First of all this thesis analyzes the basic concepts of anomaly detection and already using technology. Next, there are also described in more detail three methods for anomalies search and some types of anomalies. In the second part of this thesis there is described implementation of all three methods and there are presented the results of experimentation using real data.
Modelling of L2 Loop-Preventing Protocols
Hrnčiřík, Matej ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Veselý, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis informs about currently used technologies, which provide loop protection on data link layer of computer networks. It clarifies issues of Ethernet networks. Chosen protocols are then closely described. There are presented advantages and disadvantages of chosen protocols and they are compared to other technologies. Practical section describes the initial implementation of IS-IS in OMNeT++ environment, which serves as the basic building block of TRILL protocol. An important issue is to verify correctness of implementation.
Implementation of Delta-t Transport Protocol
Cluster Solution for HA OpenVPN
Dokoupil, Jiří ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (referee) ; Halfar, Patrik (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the possibilities for running the OpenVPN daemon in a cluster and to implement such a solution. At first, the thesis analyzes current technologies and possible approaches to this matter. Next there's one possible solution described more and implemented. In the end there are results being analyzed, mostly by describing the tests, that took place with the implemented solution.
Modelling IS-IS and TRILL
Marek, Marcel ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Veselý, Vladimír (advisor)
In this thesis, we describe the principles of IS-IS routing protocol. We introduce the current state of implementation of this protocol within the simulation framework OMNeT++. We present the implementation of the IS-IS protocol created within the ANSA project. Moreover, we employ its variant called TRILL that is nowadays deployed as replacement of STP in data-center environment. The aim is to enable the modelling of the protocols without the need having to build physical architecture.
Secure Transport of NetFlow and IPFIX Records
Štěpánek, Adam ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Podermański, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with an IP flow based data network monitoring system. It presents the architecture of the NetFlow based monitoring, explains the basic terms, the NetFlow protocol and its alternatives. Further, weak spots of the monitoring systems are determined and a conceptual solution is proposed. This solution is implemented and described in detail. Finally, testing methods and results are discussed and the possibilities of further development and optimization are proposed.
