Statistical analysis of ROC curves
Kutálek, David ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
The ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve is a projection of two different cumulative distribution functions F0 and F1. On axis are values 1-F0(c) and 1-F1(c). The c-parameter is a real number. This curve is useful to check quality of discriminant rule which classify an object to one of two classes. The criterion is a size of an area under the curve. To solve real problems we use point and interval estimation of ROC curves and statistical hypothesis tests about ROC curves.
Evaluation of classification efficiency using ROC cruves
Dluhý, Vojtěch ; Sigmund, Milan (referee) ; Poměnková, Jitka (advisor)
This semestral thesis is focused on work eith the ROC curves. Introduces the reader with ROC curves and their use to analyzing signals. Also shows an algorithm for detecting sound of siren in record using a simple algorithm and evaluation of various jamming sound of sirens by displaying the ROC curves, supplemented by calculation and comparing the areas under these curves (AUC). The algorithm is written in a development enviroment Matlab.

Analysis of intracardiac electrogram, depending on transmurality of ablation lesions at catheter radiofrequency ablation of cardiac arrythmias
Žbánková, Alena ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
Catheter ablation is a unique method for cardiac arrhythmias treatment based on creating spot lesions of radiofrequency energy using intracardiac ablation catheter. Transmurality of these lesions should be achieved for long-term therapeutic treatment effect. The degree of myocardial damage depth is reflected in the parameters of sensed intracardiac ECG. From research studies is evident that the change in morphology and deflection of ablation signal play a key role in the assessment of transmurality. This thesis consists of theoretical introduction to electrophysiology, proposal and realization of methods for objective assessment of transmurality by processing signals in time, frequency and time – frequency domain. The end of this diploma thesis includes the statistical analysis of these clinical dat and comparison of methods.
Scoring system for sputum evaluation assessing specificity and sensitivity
Fidra, Dominika ; Trnková, Ivana (advisor) ; Maláska, Jan (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a scoring system in sputum evaluation for general nurses in the intensive care unit. It is conceived as a diagnostic study that assesses the ability of the scoring system to accurately determine the ongoing condition - an infectious inflammatory disease. The collected biological material was compared with the gold standard - microbiology, by two independent persons. The result of the diagnostic study is a verified scoring system, where the color, consistency, admixtures and odor of the biological material of sputum are described for individual point evaluations. The main parameters of the diagnostic test - sensitivity, specificity and predictive value (positive and negative) - were used to verify the scoring system. For normal and pathological values, cut-off values were determined, according to which the value of sensitivity and specificity changed. By plotting the values on a graph and creating a ROC curve, it was found that with a cut off value of 1 and 2 for the first evaluator, the resulting area under the curve (AUC)=0.75. The result represents the scoring system according to the first evaluator as a good and effective test. The research was carried out at the anesthesiology and resuscitation clinic at the University Hospital of Kralovske Vinohrady...
