Impact of Different Lawn Maintenance on Terrestrial Invertebrate Biodiversity

This paper focuses on differences in the composition of invertebrate communities in grasslands with different management of green space management. It was carried out on four research plots with different management types (no-till, regular treatment with a power mower, treatment with a scythe, treatment with grazing). The main objective of the work is to demonstrate, using a sample of captured spiders, centipedes, millipedes, earwigs, and leafhoppers, which form of grassland habitat management is the most appropriate in terms of biodiversity richness. Other sub-objectives were to obtain local data on the variability of soil moisture in the study plots, air humidity and temperature. These values will illustrate an idea of the habitat of the captured animals. In terms of biodiversity, the grazed habitat proved to be the richest (a total of 84 species captured). This was followed by the no-mow habitat (83 species), mowed (76) and finally mowed with a mower (74). Mowed habitat was the poorest. In all habitats, the highest number of spider species was always captured, followed by crickets, and an order of magnitude fewer millipedes, centipedes, millipedes, and starlings were captured. Diversity hotspots in manor gardens

This thesis study differences between insect diversity of manor gardens and economic forest, as well as the importance of manor gardens within the local biodiversity of insects. Data were collected at six localities (Vlašim, Konopiště, Vrchotovy Janovice, Hluboká nad Vltavou, Český Krumlov and Třeboň). Carabids were collected in spring, summer and autumn terms during 2019. The specimens were collected via pitfall traps. There was inspected no statistically significantdifference in the diversity valuesbetweengardensand forests. The individual data showed a close relation between insect and plant diversity, as well as indicative species for garden and forest areas. The importance of manor gardens was identified primarily in a landscape which is intensively used for agriculture or with a lower proportion of natural habitats.
Activity of Invertebrates in Winter and the Verification of the Selected Invertebrates Capturing Methods During the Winter Season

This diploma thesis is focused on invertebrates' survival and activity during winter; and on methods of their capture. The first part of the theoretical section describes principles of cold hardiness, strategies of winter survival and activity in snow environment. Furthermore, different methods of invertebrates capturing are presented. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the verification of selected invertebrates capturing methods during winter. The results summarize the differences in the diversity and quantity of animals caught; and provide an overview and characteristics of selected captured taxa. Suggestions for a snow fauna excursion and a practical exercise focused on capturing invertebrates during winter are proposed based on the results of the study. The belts along the roads as a biotope for organisms.

The aim of the work was to describe the biodiversity of model groups of organisms (vascular plants, epigeic beetles and small mammals) in six transect crossing the two year old high way situated close to the town Písek (South Bohemia). The different methods were used for studied groups (phytocenological mapping, pitfall traps and mousetraps). The results documented the possibility of all studied organisms for the quick recolonization of new biotopes beside of the high way.
