Attidudes of teachers to the issue of punishments in the education system

Bachelor's thesis "Attitudes of teachers to the issue of punishments in the Education system" focuses on feelings of primary and secondary schools' teachers about punishments and also inquires if they made a use of penalties. The theoretical part dedicates to the personality in general and give a definition of the teacher and the student. The following part engages in the description of particular educational styles and the last part focuses on the punishment, it's definition, function and types. There were used a quantitative questionnaire for the research in the practical part, which aim to ascertain an general attitude of teachers to the issue of punishments. At first, it deals with the attitudes to the specific punishments, especially those commonly used in schools, afterwards it deals with the issue of penalties, which are less used with a question to the tachers, if they had appreciated those punishments in theirs schools. The bachelor thesis 'Pupil's attitudes to the issue of punishments' concerns the viewing of punishments by students of higher primary school in Skuhrov nad Bělou. The theoretical part deals with the issue of the personality definitions of a pupil and a teacher, it describes various educational styles and last but not least, penalties, their definitions, types and functions. The practical part is based on a quantitative survey among the pupils of primary school in Skuhrov nad Bělou. It focuses on their points of view and familiarity of the definitions and types of punishments. Furthermore, it examines their own experiences with penalties. The aim of this thesis is to ascertain opinions of the interviewed pupils in order to sort out their views and, where appropriate, to compare them with the views of adults that have already been carried.

This work discusses the problem of battered children highlights the dangeres of marginalising the problem on the part of public and the public´s uvwillingness to cooperate in finding solution. It describes individual aspects, risk factors and the progress and position of children in society and their rights within the law. It also emphasisis the the importance of prevention. Finally it discusses foster and adoptive care options. Also under discussion is the issue of the use of physical punishment in the upbringing of children.
