The Influence of different Types of Fiber-reinforcement on the Behavior of Concrete Slabs
Wünsche, Dominik ; Žítt, Petr (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The bachelor‘s thesis deals with the issue of concrete, specifically self-compacting concrete, fiber concrete and other types of concrete used. The work consists of two parts, the theoretical one, which will deal with the properties of the concrete. It describes the individual test methods used in the practical part. The test methods are the ultrasonic pulse method, the resonance method, the static modulus of elasticity, the compressive strength, and especially flexural strength. The second part is a practical part, which is processed by an experiment. In the experimental part, it will be mainly about carrying out tests of self-compacting concrete slabs and concrete with the addition of steel fibers. Subsequently, selected characteristics of concrete are determined and the whole experiment is evaluated.
The Influence of Moisture of Lightweight Aggregate on the Concrete Properties
Pešek, Lukáš ; Lišovský, Martin (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of moisture of lightweight aggregate on the concrete properties. In the experiment, test specimens from two different lightweight aggregate, and two different input moisture states of lightweight aggregate were tested. The tests were performed to determine the basic properties of lightweight concrete after 7, 28 and 90 days of maturing. Compressive strength, tensile splitting strength and depth of penetration of water under pressure were determined on cubic specimens. On the test prisms were performed tests to determine the flexural strength and dynamic modulus of elasticity. The results were processed and evaluated in tabular and graphical form to determine statistical data and formulate a conclusion.
Development and testing of high performance concrete for subtle structures
Myšičková, Lucie ; Cikrle, Petr (referee) ; Bílek, Vlastimil (advisor)
Thesis describes properties of HPC compared to concretes of normal and high strength. It further describes the input materials and the procedure for designing the composition of the mixture. It gives examples of already completed structures made of HPC. The experimental part describes the optimization of concrete mix and production of specimens. In the end results of testing the properties of the developed mixes from tests of dynamic and static modulus of elasticity, compressive strength and tensile strength by bending are described.
Influence of anticorrosive surface treatment of steel reinforcement fibers on the properties of ultrahigh-performace cement composite
Bocian, Luboš ; Ptáček, Petr (referee) ; Novotný, Radoslav (advisor)
This thesis characterized surface layer of brass on commercially available steel microfibers. Subsequently, it was studied how to remove this surface layer of brass off these microfibers. Additionally, this thesis investigated influence of removal of brass surface layer on mechanical and ballistic properties of RPC composites. It was also studied how previously mentioned surface layer of brass influences interface between steel microfibers and matrix. It was found out that the surface layer of brass on commercially available steel microfibers is uneven and that the brass fills scratches present on steel underneath the surface layer of brass. It was also found out that conc. HNO3 and mixture of NH3 and H2O2 in volume proportion of 3 : 1 can be used to remove the surface layer of brass. The only thing to consider is that steel microfibers from conc. HNO3 corrode. Flexural strength of composite made with fibers from mixture of NH3 and H2O2 is higher than flexural strength of composite made with commercially available steel microfibers with surface layer of brass after 28 and 95 days. Compression strength wasn’t significantly affected in any composite used in this thesis after 28 and 95 days. Composite made with fibers from mixture od NH3 and H2O2 showed slightly better ballistic resistance than composite made with commercially available steel microfibers with surface layer of brass. In terms of SEM analysis of interface between matrix and steel fibers of certain composite, it was found out that there was no evidence of infiltration of components of brass into matrix.
Experimental Investigation of the Influence of the Type of Fibres on the Behaviour of Fibre Concrete
Hanuš, Petr ; Vymazal, Tomáš (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of different properties of fibre-reinforced concrete according to the type of fibres. The main monitored property is flexural strength, tested on prisms with a cross section of 150x150 mm and a length of 600 mm. Four concretes of natural aggregate and four concrete of lightweight aggregate were prepared for the experiment. There were 2 reference concrete and 6 fibre-reinforced concrete. Three types of fibres were used: steel, polypropylene and glass. More than 2500 kg of concrete was produced. The aim of the thesis is to assess the influence of fibres on the flexural strength and other characteristics of fibre-reinforced concrete.
