Penetration of metal into green sand during pouring of iron castings
Ptáček, Tomáš ; Neudert, Alois (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the creation of penetration of cast iron with graphite casting cast into bentonite molds. In the first part of the thesis is theoretically described the formation of penetration, its main causes, consequences and the elimination of this defect. The second part analyzes the causes of the defect with the Minitab statistical software and shows the possible connections of the input materials to the occurrence of the defect. Next, the experimental finding of the cause of the defect, which is focused on the measurement of the pressures in the form of the casting, is devoted to it.
Optimalization of experimental method for study on penetration of humic acids into leaves.
Smilková, Marcela ; Pekař, Miloslav (referee) ; Sedláček, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on the study of penetration of humic substances trough the plant cuticle. The main objective of the thesis aimed at a literature search on foliar fertilization and transport of substances in the plant leaves. According to the literature search, experimental technique was suggested and tested in order to study penetration of humic substances through the leaf cuticle. The method consists of observation of diffusion transport of humic acids between two inert agarose gels separated by the plant cuticle. Cuticles were prepared by the means of three different isolation procedures.

Šmíra, David ; Vejpustek,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis is focused on evaluation of analytical methods, which are used for analyzing of bondline in timber adherend. Primary goal of this thesis is focused on specific methods, it means methods used for evaluation of adhesive flow into timber adherend with help of fluorescence microscopy, method of FTIR Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis method such as Dynamical - mechanical analyse.
The analysis of the adhesives penetration into the submicroscopic wood structure
Mitrenga, Ondřej ; Dvořák, Karel (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the problem of penetration of adhesive into the cell wall of wood. It focuses on adhesives used for structural purposes and describes one of the main aspects influencing penetration, molecular weight of the adhesive. In addition to description of useful methods for determining the molecular weight of adhesive, thesis contains a description of some methods used for detection of adhesive in the cell wall of wood.
Interaction between liquid metal and foundry mixture
Tomek, Ladislav ; Muselík, Pavel (referee) ; Rusín, Karel (advisor)
Subject of the diploma thesis was to resolve influence of grey cast iron on penetration into cement sand. Methodology of trial was designed and its attestation was implemented in experimental and running conditions. On boundary-line cement sand and pouring metal was certified generation of complex allied substances. Created mathematical model of mechanical penetration proved influence of temperature and chemical composition of grey cast iron on range of penetration.
Ageing of asphalt binders and mixtures
Štěpanovský, Vlastimil ; Komenda, Radek (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
Diploma thesis is particularly focused on ageing of asphalt mixtures and asphalt binders. In the theoretical part an array of methods simulating short term and long term ageing consequently is introduced. The main objective of the practical part was to carry out the long-term ageing test method BSA (Braunschweiger Alterung). Thereafter, specimens testing for stiffness properties according to CSN EN 12697-26 were made. After conducting the measurement on those, asphalt binder was extracted and processed to follow-up testing. The testing consisted of a range of methods – Penetration CSN EN 1426, Ring and Ball test CSN EN 1427, Determination of the Frass breaking point CSN EN 12593, Determination of complex shear modulus CSN EN 14770 and Dynamic viscosity using a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). The given results were assessed in the last part in order to evaluate the rate of the binder degradation caused by the method BSA.
The penetration features of the hydrofobized hyaluronic acid – based polymeric micelles.
Mischingerová, Monika ; Pekař, Miloslav (referee) ; Muthný, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to investigate the penetration features of the hydrofobized hyaluronic acid – based polymeric micelles using Nile red as carried tracer. Furthermore, to implement basic characterization of polymeric micelles for potential cosmetic applications using Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) as carried substance. It was found that the size of the polymeric micelles with carried CoQ10 did not exceed 100 nm. Applied delivery systems based on hydrophobic hyaluronic acid were suitable for potential topical application. Delivery systems with Nile Red as carried tracer demonstrated excellent penetration features. We assume that delivery systems with CoQ10 will exhibit similar penetration features. An issue has appeared whether the carrier breaks or proceeds along with NR to the skin. Moreover, another experiments have been designed which could also verify the penetration features of these systems.
Interaction Core - Melt by Casting of Cylinder Heads from Al Alloys in Semi-Permanent Moulds
Hlavsa, Petr ; Roučka, Jaromír (referee) ; Tegel, Michal (referee) ; Rusín, Karel (advisor)
This dissertation thesis deals with interactions on the interface core - melt by casting of cylinder heads from Al alloys in semi-permanent moulds and solves a specific problem with sticky sand after decoring of a diesel cylinder head casting. It describes in detail the process of core production using the Cold-Box method and process of casting using the progressive technology Rotacast. It theoretically analyses the reaction on the interface core-melt and presents a classification of surface defects by Al castings produced by gravity casting into semi-permanent moulds. It also states the results of technological tests of binders, core mixtures and cores (Cogas analysis). By solution of a problem with sticky sand in intake and exhaust ports of diesel cylinder head casting is used methodology for problem solving DMAIC. All experimental tests are solved in laboratory and production conditions of an international company dealing with casting of cylinder heads from Al alloys in semi-permanent moulds.
Usage of of common reclaimed asphalt in asphalt mixtures
Přívara, Jakub ; Coufalíková, Iva (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on adding of RAP (reclaimed asphalt pavement) to the wearing asphalt courses flexible pavements. Specifically it is SMA 11S asphalt mixture. The theoretical part describes issues of ecology and recycling. The practical part deals with bitumen recovery from SMA mixtures with different added ratios of RAP and assessment of basic empirical and functional tests on the bituminous binder. The verification of properities of modified bituminous binder used in this quality SMA mixtures is also introduced.
Usage of fast-reacting SBS polymer in the production of asphalt mixtures
Dohnálek, Jakub ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is a research of bituminous binder modification by fast react-ing polymer SBS. The theoretical part covers an introduction to bituminous binders, their pro-duction, chemical and physical-mechanical properties. The identification of bituminous binders and their use in bituminous mixtures is briefly described. To conclude, current modification methods are described in detail and important modifiers are introduced. In the practical part, three applied tests (softening point, elastic recovery and penetration) are described in detail. The bituminous binders tested (20/30, 30/45, 70/100, PMB 25/55-55 and PMB 45/80-50) and the fast-reacting polymer SBS are introduced. Samples with two weight percentages of SBS, 7,5% and 10%, are produced. Two mixing times, 60 seconds and 600 seconds were used to mix the bituminous binder and SBS. In conclusion, the results are evaluated and commented. Further research suggestions regarding this field are recommended.
