The bachelor thesis submitted deals with the creation, history and development of the agricultural high school in Pisek at the turn of the 20th century. The agricultural high school is one of the most prominent schools in the town of Pisek and its longstanding successful operations place it among the best high schools in Pisek. The thesis is based upon study of specialized literature, publications, printed yearly reports and yearbooks. The thesis is structured into 5 basic chapters. Since the agricultural high school is closely linked to agriculture practices, the second chapter outlines the history of agriculture at the turn of the 20th century and focuses more specifically on the period starting from the revolutionary year of 1848. The following chapter describes in general terms the history of agricultural education and the creation of agricultural and farming schools in the Czech lands within the context of agriculture history. It subsequently explains the gradual upswing of this type of school and the reasons for their creation in terms of educational needs of landowners and their national awareness. The fourth chapter deals with the history of the town of Pisek where the agricultural high school was created and run its operations with a particular focus on events that took place in the period starting from its foundation onwards. The last closing chapter is devoted to the history of the school from its foundation until the year 1949 with a small digression to the year 1970. It deals with the reasons and circumstances underlying its foundation, analyzes its upswing and expansion, touches on a few significant events in its history, contains a statistics of its student body and teachers and finally provides a list of specialized training courses on offer. An entire chapter is devoted to one of the most prominent figures in the school history, its longtime headmaster, Ladislav Burket.

Dolní Vilémovice 1939-1945. A Czech Village under the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia

Dolní Vilémovice 1939-1945. A Czech Village under the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia The thesis deals with the destiny of Dolní Vilémovice, small village which lies in West Bohemia, during the Nazi occupation. It uses sources of local authorities and oral history to describe everyday life of Czech villagers throughout the Second World War. The village mentioned above was not chosen incidentally, as it is a birthplace of Jan Kubiš, one of czech soldiers who commited assassination attempt on Reinhard Heydrich. That is why this thesis also discusses the issue of German repressive measures against the local population, especially against Kubiš family, and anti-Nazi resistance.

EZLN and changes in Mexican society

This disertation is about an indian uprising in Mexico in January 1994. The work at first summarizes the history of Mexico and it's development of guerrilla. Then it tries to characterize Zapatista movement, it's internal structure and a view of an internetional law. Therefore it says basic diferences between guerrilla, terrorist organization and activist movement. In another part I do an analysis of chosen documents. Specifically it's the first Declaration of the Lacandona jungle, second Declaration of the Lacandona jungle, Revolutionary laws and as last Requirements introduced at the beginning of the negotiation on 21 February 1994. The work deals with overall analysis of the presented documents and the main examined section becomes a problem with formation of identity. It's closely related with conversion movement from peasant movement to movement fighting for laws of indigenous habitants

Collectivization in Chmelná village and its effects on society and the landscape

The work Collectivization in the village Chmelná and its impacts on the landscape and society deals with the topic of collectivization and the associated transformation of the countryside. It is a microprobe that shows the application of general principles of collectivization on the example of the village Chmelná (Benešov district). At the same time, it also shows the specificity of the community, especially its narrow and functioning community, thanks to which it remained outside the structure of united agricultural cooperatives for longer. The work draws mainly from archival sources, is based on a comparison of testimonies of witnesses with archives of the official type. The introductory chapter describes the collectivization in Czechoslovakia in general. It draws mainly from professional literature on the topic. They are followed by specific examples of violent collectivization processes from the regional history of the Podblanicko region. The work deals primarily with the period between 1949 and 1960, especially with the final years of collectivization. Another chapter is devoted to Chmelná, which presents both the rural resistance to collectivization and the state pressure to involve the community in the collectivization. In the posthussite period the noble mentality was quite changed. One of the expessions of the change was the endeavour to keep the dominion's economy at the directional principle. It was necessary to establish as perfect dominion's administrative and financial system as possible. From this reason the nobility began to issue the economic instructions - short manuals to administrations of dominion. This work follows the development of the economic instructions in their early phase (to the half of 16th century). It analyses the particular copies included in the edition of Josef Kalousek Czech Archive vol. XXII: Peasant orders and economic instructions 1350-1626 (Archiv český XXII: Řády selské a instrukce hospodářské 1350-1626) which are included in this period.

Nature and Man in the novel "Devil´s Pool" by George Sand.

The aim of this thesis was to investigate the relation between a villager and nature in the novel The Devil´s Pool by George Sand as well as to explain their mutual attitudes. It determined the role of the nature in The Devil´s pool in the life of the villager. After that , thanks to some specific situations experienced by leading characters, we were shown to what extent nature influences a man and how the man itself respond to this influence. In the first part of my thesis I extensively described George Sand´s biography to emphasize her intellectual interest in various spheres of an artistic and scientific life. In the next chapter I discussed Sand´s relationship to the nature in Nohant to explain author´s creative background and inspiration. The core of the thesis consists of literary analysis of the novel in terms of composition, theme and language. By means of the analysis I tried to determine the above mentioned aim.
