How Violence in Media Influences Aggressiviveness of a Child

This diploma thesis is called The Influence of Violence in Media on the Aggressiveness of Child. It mainly attends to enquieries of if and how are the adolescents influenced by violence conveyed by our media. It focuses on a selected group of adolescents who display violent behaviour more often and strongly than others. It examines their relationship to media, understanding medial violence and their leisure time activities. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part is mainly oriented on defining aggressiveness and determining the characteristics of the period of adolescence. It analyses respective kinds of media and theoretical findings about the influence of violence in media on the aggressiveness of adolescents. Last but not least it mentions the matters of media education. The empirical part consists of two parts. The first of them tries to find out how the adolescents perceive media, if these are a source of information, fun or other activities for them. Furthermore it attempts to find out if adolescents who express themselves more aggressively within a group are the ones who more often seek out media programmes with violent content.
