In connection with the mentioned goal, a hypothesis was established: H1: In the Vajgar housing estate in Jindřichův Hradec, there are no opportunities for active leisure time for residents aged 55 and over. The evaluation was carried out on the basis of a questionnaire survey of 146 respondents, and the results show that residents who do not lack opportunities for leisure activities in the Vajgar housing estate would also be interested in new opportunities for leisure activities. Respondents preferred unorganized and passive ways of spending free time. Their opinion did not depend on age or gender. In the end, there is a reflection on a possible solution to the needs of the aging population regarding leisure needs in the locality. This work could be a source of information for community planning, but it would be appropriate to carry out further more detailed research, on the basis of which final decisions could be made.
