The Třebařovský creek. Assessment of small scale river.
Pikhartová, Karolína ; Petrula, Lubomír (referee) ; Julínek, Tomáš (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is to assess current condition of the small river Třebařovsky potok situated in partly urbanized area. The reach of interest is in km 0,000 to 4,320. Assessment involved evaluation of the channel capacity and stability of the river bed. Assessment was realized by solving the flow characteristics for series of discharges. Based on the results of the current conditions the proposal of the river training and other remediation measures was done.
Possibilities of banks stabilization of Desná watercourse
Lach, Radek ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Uhmannová, Hana (advisor)
The thesis includes the assessment of the current state of the Desná watercourse in the cadastral area of Velké Losiny and the subsequent suggestion of the remediation of two solves sites in the solved area. The river falls under the management of Povodí Morava, s.p. and for the most part it flows through built-up area of Maršíkov. To assess the current state of the river bed, a personal tour of the area of interest was conducted, during which everything was digitally documented. To determine the river bed capacity and calculate the progress of individual levels with the inclusion of all existing objects on the flow in the solved section, the 1D program HEC-RAS was used. Level flow calculation was made for one-year, five-year and capacity flow. Based on the literature search, measures were proposed to remediate bank erosion in locality 1 and locality 2. In these locations, an ideological nature-friendly measures in the river bed were proposed.
Nature-friendly measures in the urban city of Brno
Svobodová, Lenka ; Zedník, Ondřej (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The thesis is focused on climate change impact in cities. In its first general section various nature-based adaptation solutions for urban areas are presented. Functional instances of finished implementations from city of Brno are named. The second, practical, section a particular proposal of nature-based solution for Brno by partial revitalization of Svratka river and its surrounding area is shown. The feasibility is supported by 1D and 2D numerical models. Crucial output of the work are technical drawings and flood simulation maps.
Hospodaření se srážkovými vodami v urbanizovaných územích ČR
Mikesková, Alena
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the rainwater management in urbanized areas of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes in general the problems of rainwater management, especially the problems of climate change, the elements of rainwater management... Further attention is focused on the legislation that deals with the issue. The next section is aimed to describe the selected urbanized area. The attention is focused on the application of nature-friendly rainwater management measures in public buildings. Three variants are evaluated, for all of them are processed the estimated investment costs and the SWOT analysis.

Near natural flood protection measures in the landscape
Pergl, Michal ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Kujanová, Kateřina (referee)
Floods are dangerous natural phenomenon that can threaten human lives and cause damage to property. Near natural flood protection and water retention in the landscape is an appropriate combination of flood protection and improvement of the ecological value of the area. The most used near natural measures have been tested in practice by meta-analysis of articles available in electronic and printed form and through case studies. The case study focuses on the creation of an appropriate near natural flood protection measures in the middle part of the river basin of Berounka in the CHKO Křivoklátsko. The main finding of the meta-analysis is a substantial alteration of the height of the flood wave and the flow rate by natural measures for small and medium-sized floods and minimal at extreme hundred-year floods. Case study identifies areas supporting natural retention in the floodplain of the river Berounka. Retention area in the CHKO Křivoklátsko could have a positive influence on the effects of small and flash floods in the lower part of the river Berounka. Near natural flood protection measures in the Czech Republic are currently only at the beginning to become promoted. In the future, it could play an important role not only in terms of protection against floods, but even against the drought.
