The use of vacuum compression therapy on patients after knee surgery
BUŠEK, Matěj
In this bachelor thesis the main topic is the effect of vacuum compression therapy in patients after knee surgery. First, the basic anatomy of the knee joint was described, summarizing the structures that, when damaged, are indications for knee surgery. Next, the possibilities of knee joint damage as well as knee joint surgery options were described. As this bachelor thesis came from a spa setting and one of the main objectives was to investigate the use of vacuum compression therapy in a comprehensive spa treatment system, spa treatment options for patients after knee surgery were also described. In its practical part, the research population of five probands who were prescribed vacuum-compression therapy in their set of treatments was examined. With these probands, their knee joint development during the spa treatment was subsequently investigated using entry and exit aspect and palpation, goniometric measurements and somatometry. Also, one of the outcome factors of this undergraduate thesis was the subjective view of this issue and this was obtained through a semi-structured interview. A total of 5 probands participated in this research for this Bachelor's thesis. All of them had experienced vacuum compression therapy for the first time and therefore the semi-structured interview output made sense and therefore the probands' responses were not influenced by their previous experience of this form of physical therapy. Exit examinations concluded that their condition had improved, both in range of motion of the knee joint and in the length of the knee joint circumference, which indicated improved swelling rates, as confirmed by the facet and palpation examinations. At the same time, through interviews, a positive perception of vacuum compression therapy was found by patients who underwent this therapy. The majority of them reported a positive attitude towards the therapies they had undergone and also felt that their health status had improved after all applications of vacuum-compression therapy.
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with pain in the medial part of the left calf
Mazzola, Elisabetta ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Kozderková, Romana (referee)
"Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with Pain in the Medial Part of the Left Calf" The following Bachelor thesis took place at the outpatient rehabilitation department of the Central Military Hospital, in Prague, for a period of two weeks. The aim of this work is, firstly, to present a theoretical overview about the area of the body subject to the patient's complain, exploring the leg and the triceps surae from an anatomical and kinesiological perspective. Then the muscular pathological finding that is the most probable cause of the patient's pain is investigated. The second part of the thesis concerns the practical work performed in hospital and wants to show if and how the initial physical condition displayed by the patient can change through the application of appropriate physiotherapeutic procedures, which are based on the results of examinations and on the investigation of the possible causes of the triceps surae pain. The 30-year old patient showed pain to the touch in a restricted area of the medial aspect of the left triceps surae that was also tense and swollen. It corresponded to the location of a myofascial trigger point in the gastrocnemius. Not only the left gastrocnemius was problematic but many other muscles of the lower extremities and the trunk showed hypertonicity,...

Magerčiak, Milan ; Vařeková, Jitka (advisor) ; Hošková, Blanka (referee)
Title: Functional disorders in the foot by members of the Honor Guard of the Army of the Czech Republic Objectives: The thesis deals with the activities of soldiers Honor Guard and leg problems arising therefrom. The intention of the theoretical part is generally characterize the activity Honor Guard units, anatomical structure and kinesiology feet, including functional and structural pathology. The aim of the study was to analyze how subjective Musculoskeletal problems are most commonly found among soldiers and assess the impact of the standard used by prestige and sports shoes on his feet when the functional aspects of the activities simulating workloads soldiers. Methods: To obtain basic data on individual participants in research is used surveys using non-standardized anamnesis questionnaire. The main research method to develop practical part of the thesis was to strain gauge device (measuring system) Pedar-X detection and evaluation of plantar pressure, force, contact area and contact time. For processing and evaluation of the data obtained was used program Pedar-X Standard version 3.19.30. Physiotherapist laboratory CASRI was carried out by soldiers basic clinical examination. Results: The research involved 10 soldiers Honor Guard. The research sample included soldiers from 24 to 41 years...
Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after osteosynthesis of the lateral femoral condyle
Šírová, Anna ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Reckziegelová, Petra (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after osteosynthesis of the lateral femoral condyle Objectives: The main objective of this work is to get acquainted with the diagnosis - with knee injury and osteosynthesis of the lateral femoral condyle. In the general part of this work is elaborate literaly research, in this part we will acquainted in more details: with fractures of the distal femur, with their orthopedic solutions and subsequent physiotherapy. In the next we will learn about anatomical, biomechanical and kinesiological description of the knee joint, with a complete examination of the knee joint and with physiotherapy of this joint. In the special part of this work is described complete therapy of the patient after osteosynthesis of the lateral femoral condyle. This therapy was proceeded between 10 and 31 day after osteosynthesis. Methods: For the development of this thesis was used method analysis of scientific literature, his comprehensive procesing and classification under the assigned theme which is located in the general part of work. In the special part of this work was used acquired knowledge form the study of physiotherapy at the Fakulty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles Univesity. Simultaneously foundation for the special part of work were obtained during...
Physiotherapy for patients with complex regional pain syndrome in the wrist
OTOUPALOVÁ, Hana
The topic of this bachelor thesis is complex regional pain syndrome problematic. In the theoretical part, I describe the historical basis of the discovery of the syndrome, then its diagnostic criteria, categorization and syndrome phases, possible connection to injuries, symptomatology, pain patophysiology description and treatment possibilities. The goal of this work was to investigate the most commonly used treatments of the syndrome. Outside physiotherapy, these are pharmacological treatment, physical therapy, nerve stimulation and neuromodulation techniques, psychological inputs and alternative forms of treatment. In the practical part, I present case reports for three patients whose data I processed using anamnesis and kinesiological analysis. Two of these patients with the same injury mechanism and one with an unclear etiology experienced a complex regional pain syndrome. The first two patients underwent five therapy sessions as part of my bachelor thesis while simultaneously attending ambulant rehabilitation during three months. The therapy sessions were focused mostly on increasing the functional movement range of the hand. For both cases, the movement was restricted primarily in supination. Within my educational attainment the therapy consisted mostly of passive and active exercises, post isometric relaxation, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, soft techniques and application of the lymphatic tape. Both patients tolerated the tape well, but it didn't affect the movement range. Output data analysis and evaluation followed after finishing the therapy. It revealed a visible improvement in both the movement range and pain perception. The conclusion is that the therapy was effective for these patients. For the third patient, the research took a different route because the manual treatment selected by me wasn't adequate to his health condition. Brachial plex catheterizations, ganglion stellate blockade with pharmacological treatment were indicated. Even this treatment strategy did not provide desired effect, so the patient will remain in the care of a university hospital in Motole.
