Education and training according to the principles of Salesian pedagogy

The bachelor thesis aims to present the Salesians starting with the founder of the fiary, and the leader, Jan Bosko. The major salesian propositions are closely linked with Bosko, therefore the first chapter is concentrated on Bosko´s life and work. The second and the third chapters turn once again to history, this time the author deals with Salesian worldwide activities as well as describing first and following years of the fiary in Czechoslovakia and afterwards in the Czech Republic. The inthroned political conditions before 1989 had very big impact on religion, fairies and their activities. Together with the description of the situation before 1989 the second chapter describes Salesian evolution in Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic after the Velvet revolution. The substance of the thesis is concentrated in the fourth chapter which deals with the main points of Salesian pedagogy, its methodology and the use possibilities. After performing the history, the final chapter shows the Salesian fiary as a very actual fiary concerning pedagogical activities. With realisation the importance of alternative pedagogical styles the Salesians are becoming more popular or at least they are goal of our curiosity.
Social pedagogical work at Salesian Youth Centres

Annotation: The presented work deals with the contemporary Salesian education on the background of pedagogical principles of the preventive system of Don Bosco, which was formulated as a response to concrete historical conditions of life and needs of young boys in Turine in the second half of the 19th century and was based on a personal experience of a young priest and tutor John Bosco. The goal of the work is to ascertain through an analysis of the contemporary Salesisan education and concrete activities of Czech Salesian Youth Centres, whether and in what extant the Salesian activities can be considered as a social pedagogical work. The work is divided into five parts. Part One is focused on the historical context of the origin of the Salesian movement, whereas Part Two on the preventive system, as was applied by Don Bosco in his work. Part three is dedicated to the contemporary Salesian education and Part Four describes the functions, methods and forms of work in Czech Salesian Youth Centres. In Part Five I examine through the analysis of the contemporary Salesian education and activities of selected Czech Salesian Youth Centres, whether and in which extant the Salesian activities reflect and fulfil social pedagogical aspects of youth work. Elements of salesian spirituality in the pedagogical work of Magdalena Morano

The thesis deals with the elements of salesian spirituality in the pedagogical work of Magdalena Morano, a salesian sister who dedicated her life to education of poor girls in Sicily at the turn of the 19. and the 20. centuries. The first part of the work presents in outline the historical and political context of Italy and Sicily in the second half of the 19. century. The next part informs about the life of Magdalena Morano and her activity in Sicily. The fundamental part deals with the salesian preventive system realized by Magdalena Morano. There is developed the aim and addressees of educational work, its principles, methods, manners and means. The chapter is concluded with a mention of protagonists of education. The last part shows
