National YMCA groups in Czechoslovakia and Poland - their establishment and successful development of physical culture during the periond from 1918 to 1939

The dissertation looks at the history of one physical education organisation which was of great significance to the development of physical culture in inter-war Czechoslovakia and Poland, despite this not being its only activity. The YMCA came into being in England but it particularly flourished in the United States of America. During the First World War, Czechoslovak and Polish soldiers were given a taste of their activity, being accompanied home by members of this in- ternational association after the war had ended. Following requests from military and political leaders of the time, the American YMCA sent its secretaries to the newly established Czechoslovakia and renewed Poland to help establish the first local associations. It was particularly due to them that new practically unknown sports, were introduced to the region. In addition, in both Czechoslovakia and Poland, the YMCA also took responsibility for having new physical education fa- cilities built, improving training methods and generally enhancing young people through sport. During the inter-war years, local YMCA groups and their mem- bers performed exceptionally well in a number of sporting disciplines and ranked among the top Czechoslovak and Polish athletes. Discrimination of people with mental illness in the offices of the CSSA

This thesis deals with the discrimination of people with mental illness in the offices of the Czech Social Security Administration. The aim of the thesis is to answer the research questions asking whether people with mental disorders experience any form of discrimination when applying for disability pension. They look for elements of discrimination both in the behaviour of workers and in the legislative process of allocating disability pensions. The behaviour of workers is explained by using framing theory. The theoretical part describes direct and indirect discrimination, framing theory and the theory of line workers with whom we continue to work throughout the thesis. Next, the procedure of allocating disability pensions is indicated, which gets compared with the experience of respondents in the practical part. The research questions are answered in the practical part through several interviews with respondents with mental illness, who went through the application process for disability pension and with respondents who work as medical examiners in the social security administration. In this part, there is also a discussion which analyses the flow chart, which appeared with all respondents with mental illness. In the end, all findings and answers to research questions are summarized.

- 1 - Roman officials during the Republic Abstract This thesis was created with the aim to provide a comprehensive look into the problematics of Roman magistracies in the republican times. Appart from the listing of individual republican offices and their powers, which constitutes the crux of this thesis, it also grapples many questions closely connected to the concept of Roman republican magistracies, including questions of sociopolitical and legal nature. Attention is also given to historical and societal circumstances that have led to the creation of individual magistracies, rules governing holding these offices, their acquisition and resignation and furthermore the relationship between individual magistracies regarding the course of offices. The opening chapter deals with the term Roman magistracy itself and later with the principles governing magistracies as a whole as well as the division of offices into groups based on certain criteria. Likewise, the Roman course of offices - cursus honorum is an important part of the chapter as well as the insignia and privileges of the office that distinguished Roman magistrates from the ordinary citizens. This Graduation Thesis deals with the history of Physical Education and sport in the town of Tábor from the establishment of first sport groups till year 1945. The thesis is divided into a few chapters according to individually sports. Another division is to the significant periods of Czech history (an era before World War I, an era of World War I, a period of Czechoslovak republic and time of World War II). The era of first Czechoslovak republic was one of the most successful and sport pehnomenon grew very fast. Historical informations are taken from distrrict archive in Tabor town, archives, chronicles, almanacs of individual sports sections and periodicals from that time.
The incidence of burnout syndrome among a selected group of officials in Ceske Budejovice.

This work is devoted to the burnout syndrome and its incidence amongst officials in the České Budějovice area. The theoretical part talks about the causes and symptoms of the burnout syndrome and describes the possibilities of prevention and treatment. The practical part then presents the results of the questionnaire survey. Two questionnaires were used for the survey the Burnout Measure (BM) and the Beverly Potter´s Questionnaire. Total of 50 respondents completed the questionnaire.
The history of basketball in the Czech Lands from 1945 to the present

The graduation thesis is focused on the history of basketball in the Czech Lands from 1945 to the present. The present, in this thesis, is set as the year of 2000. This year has been selected because of the thesis range and the information availability on the internet. The main purpose is to analyse the specific official international competitions, in which the Czechoslovaks and the Czechs were participated. The next purpose is to analyse the main basketball league for men and women in the Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic. The whole thesis is divided into six main chapters. In every chapter is described a brief outline of socio economic conditions for years, on which is the chapter focused on. In every part of the thesis are also described international events. The major focused is on the events, that our representation had a great result. The other subject, which can be found in every chapter, is home main basketball competition for men and for women. Every part of the work is completed with photographs, pictures and charts, that have connection with the specific period.

Principles of activities of Roman officials

A principles of activities of the Roman officials The main objective of this thesis is to explain the principles which had formed since from the beginning of the city of Rome. Later, in the republic era, these principles had a great influence on the Roman officials and their activities. These principles also helped to form a large part of the Roman constitutional legal system This thesis describes the period of Roman kingdom and republic and principally deals with the way how the principles affected not only on the officials, but also on the Roman state and law. The first chapter focuses on the mysterious ancient culture called the Etruscans and establishment of the city of Rome. The Etruscans were very advanced culture. They stood on the beginning of the roman civilization and they inflicted its future progress in many areas of living, especially in the state administration. The second chapter devotes to the development of the Roman state administration in the early republic. In this chapter we can find a description and characterization of the Roman offices and the assistants of the officials. The history of Whitewater Area of Lída Polesná in České Vrbné

This thesis focuses on history of the artificial slalom track in Český Vrbný near České Budějovice. After a complex reconstruction and revitalization, which took place in the years 2009 - 2012, the Lída Polesná water sports complex is a top artificial slalom trail, belonging among the three best in the Czech Republic. Moreiver it is a real and very popular sporting, recreational and training center not only of regional but also of national importance. This thesis contains history of the slalom track moreover also includes an outline of the history of canoeing in the Czech lands until the first artificial slalom trails. Furthermore it includes an outline of the history of the Česke Budejovice canoeing, an outline of the history of the weir in Český Vrbný and comparison of this track with other similar facilities. It also includes an overview of artificial slalom trails in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and is further supported by an overview of their parameters and their photographs. The thesis is a 100 page-wide. The thesis has 75 attached pictures with labels. The main format msily consist of two original photographs, pictures, maps, or drawings.
