Questions Concerning Elementary Education in Reflection of School Chronicles ZŠ U Santošky 1 (1897-1939) Abstract The focus of this Bachelor's thesis is to comprehend the development of general education in the years 1867 - 1939 in the context of school chronicles from elementary school U Santošky 1 which history illustrates the general scheme. First chapter describes theresian education together with the development of education in Smíchov until 1897, when IVth general school for boys and girls in Smíchov was founded (today elementary school U Santošky 1). The following chapter describes the characteristics of general education and the changes that were applied during the era. The third chapter focuses on changes and development since the foundation of the independent Czechoslovakia until the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was established. Felis versus Felix - Symbolic and narative content (of Cat) in Art and Art education

The theme of this diploma thesis is Felis versus Felix - symbolical and narrative content within art and arts education. This thesis is both theoretical and practical study of the topic. Theoretical part is concerned with understanding key words, their meaning, cat itself, its symbolic, history, properties, and connotations connected to it. The author of the thesis maps the occurrence of cat in art and literature, which she supports by specific examples. She further offers using the theme of the thesis in arts education and introduces already existing art set called "Animal within us". The author proposes another possibilities of using the theme within pedagogical practise. Practical part of the thesis stems from results of heuristic preparation. It contains two sets of art works of various but interconnected nature.
