Fenomenom of the Living History in Bohemia

This thesis explores in the Czech Republic little explored phenomenon of living history. The motivation for this topic is the author's long-standing interest in this issue and his active participation in similar activities. The thesis aims to characterize the concept of living history and specify this kind of leisure time activity participated by a part of the population in the Czech Republic. It also examines the question of whether living history is a subculture. Therefore, it also describes the concept of subculture through according literature. It also seeks to map or outline and present some living history associations as a sample of the phenomenon based on research. Field research, participant observation, conducted interviews among the members, spectator and active participation in the events and presentations organized by them, and web analytics are used for this. The first chapter deals with the clarification of the concept of experimental archaeology and living history, since the difference between them is essential. My work has focused on the Czech Euroindians history of their origin, what it means to be "Euroindian" and how they themselves understand their way of life models. The aim was to find the identity of the Czech Euroindian in modern Czech society. The work deals with the spiritual culture and the implementation of some of the most characteristic of Indian's ceremonies, habits when camping (spring, summer, autumn, winter) as the teepee construction and compliance with the label inside the teepee, cooking, playing the most typical Indian's games, music and singing and other joint events (Pow wow General Assembly, etc.) and their connection with modern life in Czech society. My work is theoretical and empirical. I base it on the method of qualitative research. I use literary sources, Internet resources, personal communication and e-mails with Czech Euroindians and unstructured interviews with Czech Euroindians. Valuable sources of information were also in journals Buffalo wind, Wampum Neskenonu magazine and the Tramp. Fencing as part of education

The thesis is about teaching fencing from the past to the present times. It shows the developing of the first forms of fight and its change to a free time activity. It also shows the roots and functioning of some other free time activities which were derived from fencing. The next part of the thesis presents a few groups dedicated to the living history, historical fencing and experimental archeology in the Czech Republic and abroad. Last part of the thesis shows some possible usage of principles and methods of free time pedagogy in these free time activities as prevention of the sociological and pathological phenomenoms that endanger teenagers.
