The thesis will focus on the topics the presidents raise, as well as potential elements of influencing public opinion. In the framework of the analysis, the thesis will consider the response of the media to the speeches. The aim of the thesis is on one hand to determine how the personalities and life experiences of statesmen influence the creation of their speeches, and on the other to contribute to a deeper understanding of the presidential office and to explore its evolution throughout the thirty years of the existence of the independent Czech Republic.
