Baroque nobleman under the protection of five stars

This bachelor thesis deals with the relationship of Adam Franz of Schwarzenberg towards the saint John of Nepomuk. Its main focus lies particularly on the role of the saint in the nobleman's mentality and how it influenced his expressions of piety. It puts emphasis on the form of the Schwarzenberg domain under the influence of the Nepomucean cult. The author analyses the causes and consequences of Schwarzenberg's intimate relationship towards the mentioned saint, which was fully demonstrated during the festivity of the saint's canonisation, to which the author gave a thorough attention. This bachelor thesis doesn't focus only at a concrete noble individual but tries to capture the collective mentality of the baroque man, shaped especially by his religious experiences.
England in the eyes of Czech noblemen at the turn of the 16th and the 17th century

This bachelor thesis deals with the ways of Czech noblemen in England at the turn of the 16th and the 17th centuries. The thesis contains a general summary of traveling during the early modern period. It is based on analysis of the personal sources, which are a travel diaries. In the central part of thesis we deal with more specific trip issues, as were arrivals and departures to the country and from the country, an English company and the royal court, including his ceremonies, celebrations and pastimes, dress, dining or communication, visit secular and church buildings, educational and other institutions. The thesis consist of seven chapters, the introduction and conclusion.
The Image of an Aristocrat in the Chroniclar Production of the 14th Century.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare the image of an aristocrat in the chronicles of the 14th century as well as its dependence on the conrete author of the particular chronicle. It observes how the goal of the chronicler and the recipient himself influence the perspective on the aristocrat and the appraisal of his person.
Karel Maria Drahotín Villani. Nobleman {--} Patriot.

Nowdays Karel Maria Drahotín baron Villani is practically unknown although he belonged to renowned and brilliant individualities of the Czech cultural life in the 19th century. First of all he was popular as liberal politician who held the same opinions like František Palacký. Villani gave himself to poetry as well though his poems did not reach the top. He was one of first authors who appreciated Mácha´s Máj. The thesis deals not only with baron Villani´s political opinions and his literary work but also his public activities, salon of his family and his legency created after his death as well.
