SRv6 protocol and its use in education
Emulator transmission parameters of data networks
Grabovský, Štěpán ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a development of a network emulator operating in TCP/IP computers networks. This work contains a specification of transmission parameters and an analysis of concurrent systems both proprieties and open-sources. Afterward describes a relalization of the emulator itself. The core of the emulator uses well-known Linux tools tc, netem and iptables. An API of the program is realized by web service and for user interaction has been developed a web user interface. At the end of this work are listed and then discussed measured results of the emulator capabilities.
Implementation of NetEm support for LNST
Procházka, Jiří ; Marek, Marcel (referee) ; Lichtner, Ondrej (advisor)
The main focus of this thesis is  on network emulation. It contains introduction to the field of emulation and different experimentation methods. Part of this work is also devoted to the analysis of software and hardware emulators. Special emphasis is placed on the NetEm emulator, which is used in the practical part of this thesis. Practical part is focused on implementation of NetEm support for application LNST. Finally, test suite which is using this new implementation was created.
Simulated Fault-Injection in Network Communication
Rozsíval, Michal ; Rogalewicz, Adam (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
The development of network applications takes place under ideal conditions, as opposed to deploying them in a real-world environment that contains vulnerabilities such as loss, latency, or cyber-attacks. Ensuring resilience against these vulnerabilities is thus crucial. This thesis introduces the NetLoiter, which aims to enable the simulation of the required vulnerabilities and thus allow developers to treat them correctly. The NetLoiter can be used in transparent (proxy server), hidden (captures communication directly from the system kernel), or hardware versions suitable for testing embedded systems. NetLoiter supports dynamic reconfiguration using a public interface that can be used to automate the testing process. NetLoiter has been successfully integrated and used in real projects.
