This diploma thesis evaluates the Czech retail market for food and consumer protection benefits for the customer with the division into a public-private law parts. An important theme of the work is the effect of the Act on significant market power on the retail entities. Part of the work is devoted to food quality criteria, which significantly affect the chain stores. The results of the work are intertwined with the subjective assessment of customers that were obtained from a questionnaire focused on consumer behaviour when purchasing food and its contribution to the improvement of consumer protection for the customer in the buying decision process.

Hublová, J. Consumers and packaging free shops. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. The diploma thesis deals with packaging free shops with an emphasis on consumer behaviour. The main task of the thesis is to propose general marketing recommendations for packaging free shops and specific recommendations for the selected store. The thesis focuses on the experience of Czech consumers with packaging free shops and their willingness to buy there. To reach the goal, in-depth interviews (n = 26) were used, with shoppers and also with consumers who have not experienced this way of shopping. A questionnaire survey (n = 379) was carried out as well. Based on the results of the research, general recommen-dations were formulated and later specified for the selected shop.

The dissertation focuses on the area of in-store communication, its perception and visual attention within the elements of the point of sale. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the influence of selected visual instruments of the sales point on attention of the consumer from generation Y. To realize this aim were used eye-tracking method (n = 54), in-depth interviews (n = 54) and focus groups (n = 32) with consumers, in-depth interviews with specialist (n = 12) and questionnaire (n = 1456). The result of the work is the evaluation of the importance of these visual elements across the different categories of foods, the comparison of the findings with the theory and practice and the proposal of recommendations applicable in practice
Buying Behaviour in the Field of the Internet Purchase of Food

The aim of the thesis is to suggest measures for selected online grocery shop. For this thesis was chosen online grocery shop Plnátaška.cz, which acts in South Bohemia. The theoretical part includes issues of e-commerce and particularly online sales of food. The practical part contains analysis of buying behaviour in the field of the internet purchase of food. Analysis is based on the results of questionnaire survey. Based on the results of the survey, were determined concrete suggestions and recommendations.

Consumer culture of social classes in terms of food purchasing and consumption habits Monika Novotná Abstract This work deals with historical and sociological view on the issue of grocery obtaining and consumption between the end of World War II to the present. Grocery obtaining and consumption is understood as a symbolic expression of social status in society. The work is divided into two parts. Theoretical-historical part examines how food consumption is linked to changes of social stratification. Research part of thesis builds on the theme of food consumption by examining the shopping habits in relation to social class. The main question of theoretical-historical part is whether and how food consumption, relates to social differentiation. Trend of convergence of differences in consumption and rate of consumption stratification of social classes are monitored in time series in two eras - the communist period and the period after 1989. For both periods, a secondary analysis of historical data on the consumption of specific types of food that aims to detect differences or similar trends between social classes. New trends in consumer behavior when purchasing food

This master thesis deals with consumer behavior when purchasing food. For the purpose of this thesis students from the Central Bohemia Region are chosen as a selected group of consumers. The theoretical part sums up the knowledge related to the shopping behavior of consumers when buying food and influences on this behavior. The second part analyzes the shopping habits of the selected group of consumers. Shopping behavior is examined in terms of frequency of purchase, place of purchase, the most frequently purchased food categories, the main decision criteria when buying food, the impact of advertising and promotional discounts, the importance of information on food composition and the country of origin, interest in organic food and healthy lifestyle, willingness to try new food and approach to food purchases on the internet. The final part interprets the new trends in consumer behavior of the selected group of consumers and formulates a set of recommendations both for the selected group of consumers and for food retailers.

Consumer protection at purchase of food

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze rights of consumers and obligation of sellers when buing food. The first chapter defines general concepts related to this issue. Following chapters are focused on the main principles of consumer protection in the EU and the Czech Republic, on the general requirements for food labeling, on food packaging from both hygienic and recycling aspects. Another important aspects is the issue of the claim. The last chapter deals with the comparison of price and quality for the particular products. The first goal of this thesis is to summarize a picture of the consumer protection when buing food in the Czech Republic and to inform reader about his rights and obligations in this area. The second goal is to show the reader that the quality is not always the main atribute to determine the price of goods.
